I'm not prepping for zombies. I'm going to assume that they're like the ones in "Warm Bodies", so I will just show them love and kindness and then their hearts will beat once more.

Ha good luck with that. I guess that makes you the designated "Team ATS" zombie tester. Then we'll know if 1) even zombies need love and 2) whether they're the slow or fast zombies.

If they turn out to be friendly zombies you can say "Told ya so" but if they're hostile then duck while the rest of us open fire.

lol...I would be the idiot trying to stop and talk to them!
But it's okay...I can tuck and cover or stop, drop and roll....

Also, thanks to Brad Pitt I now never leave the house without duct-taping a magazine to my forearm.
Comes in so handy!

I'll see that best sister and raise you a zombie quiz.

Huh, that actually came out pretty good. Here's my score:

    1. Short barrel .30 caliber
    2. Big box of wooden matches
    3. Gun toting shootem-up US Marshal Raylan Givens from the series Justified.

ETA - Whoops, didn't see the T&C part of that pic, sorry modes. Fixed it.

Ok, just took the quiz...looks like I'm in trouble!

On my left, a pack of cigarettes & lighter...
On my right, a feather pillow...
Last character I watched was Sheldon Cooper (Big Bang Theory).

I can offer the zombies a smoke, then smother them with the pillow...while singing "Soft Kitty" to Sheldon, cuz he's a big baby.
(Would rather have Penny, I think?)

FlyersFan...No, you're not zombie bait!
It's not about what you have, it's how you use it!

Water bottle...drown them.
TV remote...mute them.
Ashton Kutcher...bore them.
Drown, mute, bore.
Now RUN!

Nice thing about prepping for a zombie apocalypse is that then you are pretty much ready for any other scenario.

Me? I have some gear in my laptop bag which is always with me, but down in the parking lot, in my truck, I've got my bug out bag, complete with pistol, ammo, and survival gear. The truck also has gear, and can carry a lot of siphoned diesel fuel.

Only downside, is if it goes south while I'm at work, I've got a 40 mile hike back to the ranch if the truck can't get through traffic. But, at the ranch, we've got a well, and septic, so we could still live like somewhat civilized folks, and behind at least two layers of fencing. We're also in the stages of having some other self-sufficient steps, such as bunnies, chickens, and small crops. (all while my wife and I work in the city). (yes, she has a bug out bag too, in her truck).

If the zombies come, or any other threat, we're pretty good to go. Sure, I'd prefer it be about 5 years from now though (I plan on having a lot more in the way of emergency, non-grid power, and a lot of stored home-canned food by then)....but we'll do ok.

I live, technically, within the city limits of the biggest town in the county. Realistically, I live on street with 2 neighbors that dead ends into a government run park (indian history and all that). Behind me is about 5 acres of brushland (mesquite, sage, and tons of quail and dove), with a doctor who lives on a hilltop. It is rocky, hilly terrain. The city doesn't provide sewage, so we have our own septic tank. They provide water, but we all have wells. We had our plugged shortly after moving in, but have considered reopening it.

I have considered starting a chicken coop. I have an old storage building that we barely use (things we don't care to remember get stuffed in there). It would make a fine coop. I think the city code allows for chickens if maintained a certain distance from property boundaries shared by a neighbor. The rabbit idea is a very good idea that I haven't really considered yet.

Fresh chicken and fresh eggs, though...that would be swell.

Alright! Things are looking up. Looks like you and I have point as we push through the ravenous mobs on our way to FurryTexan's house and chicken coop.

Flyers Fan and Beezzer best you both keep a low profile with your pillow and stapler, those items could make you team medics.

Jacygirl can test each of the hoards to see if their warm zombies or sprinters but don't lose those cigarettes, might be the last pack.

Dollukka, don't forget to bring the mouse. As we trek cross country we may get hungry and have to cook it up, food may be scare.

Hopefully FurryTexan's son won't plink us with his .22 as we shuffle up the street. Wait, aren't zombies attracted to load clucking and chickens too??

Oh you're in trouble, friend.
You just admitted to having a fully stocked bar.
The zombies will head right to you, they love their alcohol....why do you think they stagger around?
