If the US was going to send in covert merceneries they would not be speaking english. In particular since mercs from Slavic countries are available in large numbers. This story has no logic to it.

It is not US who is sending them. They are mercenaries and they belong to Greystone, shaddy business enterprize outside US government umbrella.
They have been contracted by mob from Kiev since local police in Harkiv, Donetsk and Lugansk is not keen to go against its people.
Many have been sided with people already so for a rich country such as Ukraine $1,000 per hour for these contract killers is small prize to pay. It will be very costly at the end though.

They're nazis ... nationaliists and socialists ... that's a nazi. Except in your teeny brain, the word is only associated with Germans.

Clearly, English is not your first language.

A nationalist is someone who supports the nation. Scottish nationalists, who are also rather socialist, are not Nazis. Russian nationalists who cobbled up the vote in Crimea are also not Nazis. France could be described as being socialist, but they are not Nazis either.

The Nazis were fascist. Fascism is usually described as a form of extreme nationalism coupled with high levels of authoritarianism, that is blind obedience to authority.

You may see nationalists parading about in Ukraine, but they are not Nazis. They are people who believe in Ukrainian sovereignty.

You should temper your language, because calling Ukrainians Nazis at every turn is merely showing you up as a person who believe the propaganda from Russia and does not look beyond that.

Regards

He was probably talking about national socialism which is nazism. And that is what Right Sector is. Svoboda is not far from them and they are in Ukrainian parliament. Of course, if not for violent coup they would still be marginal players. But after taking a major part in the coup they became major players.

Demonstrators confront police (and supposedly mercs) in Kharkov

The mercs are supposed to be the group closer to the building, behind the police line.

And check out those older ladies slamming the riot cops near the end. Clearly they must be Russian KGB provocateurs

And pitin isn't paying his terrorists in Eastern Ukraine ?

For every action there is an equally and opposite reaction

Let's be honest the activities of pro Russia activists I'm the East are that of brutal armed take overs and should not be tolerated

one wonders why you post your comment as a rhetorical question...?
but not with something substantial we can believe in

we do know the us is constantly causing sectarian violence through out the world through use of private mercenary contractors
talibans, alCIAduh!, blackwater /Xe...etc..often dressed as locals to incite sectarian violence
then you have the IDF and the nazis working together which is really a hoot
"brothers" the IDF zionist said about the nazis in Haaretz news paper

he ex-Israeli soldier who led a Kiev fighting unit...
...As platoon leader, Delta says he takes orders from activists connected to Svoboda, an ultra-nationalist party that has been frequently accused of anti-Semitism and whose members have been said to have had key positions in organizing the opposition protests.

“I don’t belong [to Svoboda], but I take orders from their team. They know I’m Israeli, Jewish and an ex-IDF soldier. They call me ‘brother,’” he said. “What they’re saying about Svoboda is exaggerated, I know this for a fact. I don’t like them because they’re inconsistent, not because of [any] anti-Semitism issue.”

The commanding position of Svoboda in the revolution is no secret, according to Ariel Cohen, a senior research fellow at the Washington D.C.-based Heritage Foundation think tank.

“The driving force among the so-called white sector in the Maidan are the nationalists, who went against the SWAT teams and snipers who were shooting at them,” Cohen told JTA.

“The driving force among the so-called white sector in the Maidan are the nationalists, who went against the SWAT teams and snipers who were shooting at them,” Cohen told JTA.

www.haaretz.com...

Oleksandr Yakymenko, the former head of Ukraine's Security Service, claimed this week in an interview with TV channel Rossiya that pro-Maidan (pro-Western) organizers were the ones behind the Feb. 20 shootings.

Yakymenko said the shots came from Kyiv's Philharmonic Hall. That particular building was overseen by the Fatherland Party's deputy Andriy Parubiy, known unofficially as the "commander of Maidan." After President Viktor Yanukovych fled Ukraine, Parubiy assumed the post of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council for the interim Ukrainian government.

Yakymenko said snipers started shooting at local police forces but then directed their fire on the anti-government protesters fighting the police. After the shooting, some of the snipers moved on to Hotel Ukraine. He added that the Maiden fighters appeared "prepared," leaving the barricades at the first sniper shot.

Yakymenko said Ukrainian nationalist groups Pravij Udar and Svoboda requested his help in clearing out the snipers, but Parubiy wouldn't allow government forces into Maidan-controlled territory. Yakymenko went on to claim that among the snipers were foreign mercenaries. While not making a direct connection between the United States and the snipers, Yakymenko suggested that the US embassy was somehow using Poland to orchestrate the overthrow of (now ousted) Yanukovych.

Pro-Russian news networks were not the only ones that suggested pro-Maidan snipers may have taken part in the shootings.

"The majority of the gunfire seemed to be coming from police lines," said BBC's Gabriel Gatehouse. "But not all of it." Gatehouse said he saw one of the shooters "wearing one of the protesters' green helmets," and shooting from an open window in Hotel Ukraine.

Svoboda only has around 30 seats in the Ukrainian. Do not overplay their influence. In recent years Svoboda has tried to moderate. It seems that most Ukrainians welcomed the removal of a president who had become too powerful. Regardless, the point here is the belief held by some, and promulgated by the controlled Russian media that the Ukrainian authorities are Nazis. It is a ridiculous assertion and is a convenient way to close all debate down, because why debate with a Nazi?

The demonization of the Ukrainians was a tactic used by Stalin in his excuse for Ukrainian genocide in the early 1930's where it is reported that 5-10 million Ukrainian's perished. No wonder some Ukrainians are mistrustful of the Russians.

That's a nice liberal definition.

But fascism actually means different things. Mainly though it is that it is typically tyranny of the minority. That minority can be nationalists, corporations, religious extremists, the deepstate, whatever. The minority exerts its dominance over the majority through aggressive policy that benefits a select interest group while oppressing others.

And fascism can have different degrees aswell.

You may see nationalists parading about in Ukraine, but they are not Nazis. They are people who believe in Ukrainian sovereignty.

Both Right Sector and Svobida are openly neo-Nazi. There's no way around that fact. They are now in the government and rampaging on the streets. They openly intimidate political opponents. Just last night they beat up the only remaining parliamentary representative from Yanuckovich's party. They attacked the head of the communist party inside of parliament, on video, after he advocated for federalism. They attacked a media official, on video, and forced him to resign because they didn't feel like he was promoting them enough. This is clearly fascism.

It is all the Law of Karma. Stalin killed several million Ukranians and in return he got attacked by the Germans. When it was all over, 20-30 Million Russians were dead. In return, Germans had 6 million dead, country destroyed and half the country lost. Several million Germans were also sent to labor camps to help rebuild USSR. How many returned is not known correctly.

Japanese killed several million Chinese, spread fascism in Asia and ill treated Allied POWs. In return their country was bombed into destruction and then finally NUKE bombed to get the message through to fascist approaches of dealing with common problems.

Governments or Leaders can take harsh decisions on others but in the return the law of karma brings the goodies back to them.

For Ukrainians to be mistrustful of Russians is stupid. They are being outright hostile to Moscow by inviting NATO to join. This is total stupidity. For something that Stalin did several decades ago, Uks in their resentments are ready to get punished by jumping into idiotic decisions.

US/NATO/EU are no well wisheres of Ukrainian people. Uks are just being used to weaken the Russian State. If West was so caring about Uks the lots of aid and funds would have been delivered already.............directly to the people. $15B promised by EU is nothing but to avoid the default on interest payments.

Donkeys do not even learn from other Donkeys which have been ridden and trodden before and then abandoned. More than few examples of nations and communities which have been used by the West and then sidelined.

I doubt it, as it would give the Russians an excuse to send a lot of western soldiers home in a body bag. Since they are mercenaries, and I doubt very much, any such company, blackwater or greystone, would put their soldiers up for a hunting license. I doubt that's good for business.

I am leaning more and more to the fact that Vovin seems to be an obvious disinformation agent who works for the Russian government, and in favor of Putin. You should see his responses in a thread I started about the protests in Ukraine. He is obviously not only pro-Russian, but he seems to see Putin as an idol, when Vovin himself has stated that no one else but Vovin understands Putin because he(Vovin) has read "a secret thesis" that Putin wrote, and which according to Vovin himself is not in the public domain...

In this supposed "secret thesis" that Putin wrote, Vovin states that among other things Putin wants all power and infraestructure in the hands of the state.

Here, let me quote that part of Vovin's response.

Vovin
...
He wrote it in the 1990s and he clearly writes out how Russian economy would totally recover by taking the Russian resource industry from private owners and putting it back into state control (which is what happened) and that the Russian state can assert regional hegemony by exporting resources needed by neighbouring countries (which also Russia has done).
...

www.abovetopsecret.com...

I excerpted just part of his response for simplicity, because he wrote a lot more.

Same old story, nothing changes with the yanks, one can never trust them, that has proven time and time again historically.

Ukraine was actually econimcally BETTER off with economic ties with Russia than the US / EU.

Well, looks like Crimea is going to be living in Luxuary compared to the rest of what remains of Ukraine.

Crimea will become the Monaco of Ukraine lol. In fact I believe Putin may even do this just to rub their noses in it.
...

Not that I would want either Ukraine or Crimea to join either the EU, or even NATO, but are you seriously claiming that Ukraine would be better off to allow the Russian empire to take over?... It's not like in Russia things are going that well with Putin and his government alongside with the Russian mafia, mostly KGB and other former intelligence officers who were part of the U.S.S.R., sharing power.

In Russia there has been the murders of over 300 Russian journalists who were critical of Putin and his government. Putin ordered the raid of the largest humanitarian building in Russia which had the largest depository of knowledge of the murderous acts committed by Stalin. Putin, and his government have been conducting a disinformation campaign in Russia trying to re-write the history of Stalin by claiming he did "those necessary evil things for the good of the nation", to the point that school books, and other media in Russia claim "Stalin just did those things for the good of the nation"...

The Russian government obviously murdered by radiation poisoning Alexander Litvinenko, who was a former officer of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) and KGB and was very critical of Putin and his government. Of course Putin was also a KGB officer who in these days has even stated many times that he misses the old days of the U.S.S.R. and that the fall of the U.S.S.R. was a "tragedy for all Russians".

You have got to wonder why anyone in their right mind would proclaim that the fall of a dictatorship as the old U.S.S.R., was and is a tragedy for Russians...

Vovin himself has stated that Putin wants to give all power and infrastructure in the hands of the state... Of course Putin and Vovin want the same thing in Crimea and Ukraine, and who knows what other former states of the old "Mother Russia"...

You're calling me a disinformation agent? Aren't you the guy that claimed to know so much about Marxism and I mowed you down with my actual education on the subject? You are so petty that you're now jumping to new threads to harass me. How sad for you.

And I told you before, I am born and raised thoroughbred Canadian. Thank you for trying to derail this thread with your baseless accusations. Your opinions are reactionary because you have no ability to understand or express an analysis of your own, so you attack those who can. Bottom line is your sh*t is weak.

Where are the mods when you need them?
