If you think socialist are against guns then you know nothing about socialism. You have countries like Switzerland that is socialist and they have one of the highest personal gun ownership rates in the world. I hope everyone that has gun go to jail! Criminals included. The more guns people have , the more crime there is. Isnt that why NY has high crime rate?

For everyone else that aprove guns , I hope everyone have Bazookas in their houses and uses them. Laws are made by people that want the laws to help them , not the people. Guns shouldnt exist in the first place. Less weapons , less death. No Weapons No War.

In NYC, guns are pretty much impossible to legally get--demonstrating how gun bans do not work.

This thread is an extremely sad attempt at misleading people.

Gun seizures are taking place across the nation, or do you not actually read the news?

Obama, his VP and other administration surrogates and party supporters constantly talk about getting rid of guns.

The second amendment IS under attack, nobody is saying that some of these people actually do genuinely mean well but no matter their intentions, some of them (to some extreme) wish to attack the 2A.

Maybe you should reread the news and try to understand it this time. Those are taking place on a state level not federal and the Supreme Court has ruled in the past that states do have a right to regulate weapons in their states.

More people now have insurance than before the ACA. Looks like people kept their plan and people actually have better plans than before.

Before ACA. 15,000 deductible
After ACA 5,000 deductible

Looks like average person saves 10,000

What planet are you from? you cant spew those garbage numbers and pass it as fact. every living person I know has been affected negatively by the ACA. you most live on a magical island or some remote part of the country where news travels slowly.

We hear stories about gun grabs and ATF raids and Alex Jones going completely mental time and time again. Hell, if anyone even mentions gun control in the slightest degree, it's met with a rage usually reserved only if someone is about to be castrated. And I guess that is a pretty apt way to describe it isn't it?

In another thread along this topic, I suggested that we follow along with the constitution as a form of gun control and everyone STILL lost their minds on it.

The forbes article that was pointed out on page 1 of this thread, as an example of how awful a person Obama is and how he's on a massive gun grabbing crusade to eliminate all guns from America and kill babies, turned out to be reasonable according to the articles author.

Let's go through them one by one shall we? Because apparently this is the go to article that you all are pointing to to show that Obama is a gun grabbing tyrant hell bent on disarming the populace in order to turn this country into a tyrannical despotism.

1. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal agencies to make relevant data available to the federal background check system.

Hmm, no gun grabbing there, just some common sense cross sharing of information between federal agencies.

2. Address unnecessary legal barriers, particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, that may prevent states from making information available to the background check system.

Ya know, maybe that paranoid schizophrenic doesn't really need a AR-15, perhaps that data can be shared to the background check system.

3. Improve incentives for states to share information with the background check system.

Once again, more information sharing, less gun grabbing.

4. Direct the Attorney General to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks.

Ya know, maybe the guy who shot up that convenience store shouldn't have a gun!

5. Propose rulemaking to give law enforcement the ability to run a full background check on an individual before returning a seized gun.

Officer Jenkins: "Hey, lookie here! Sorry Mr. Smith, your background check turned out to be clean, here's your gun, now, if you wouldn't mind, please stop pistol whipping your wife for the evening."

6. Publish a letter from ATF to federally licensed gun dealers providing guidance on how to run background checks for private sellers.

7. Launch a national safe and responsible gun ownership campaign.

22. Commit to finalizing mental health parity regulations.

Officer Jenkins: "Finally, we can go do something about that hobo down in the park that screams obscenities at park benches and urinates on himself while waving a gun around, let's go get him some help."

23. Launch a national dialogue led by Secretaries Sebelius and Duncan on mental health.

"Maybe the insane hobo down at the park shouting obscenities at park benches and urinating on himself while waving a gun around isn't really safe with that gun."

And once again, just because everyone missed it:

It does not appear that any of the executive orders would have any impact on the guns people currently own-or would like to purchase- and that all proposals regarding limiting the availability of assault weapons or large ammunition magazines will be proposed for Congressional action. As such, any potential effort to create a constitutional crisis—or the leveling of charges that the White House has overstepped its executive authority—would hold no validity.

It would seem that actions speak louder than words. And the actions taken by this administration show that they just might not be out to take away your guns.

Maybe out to keep them out of the hands of the clearly insane, but not out to take away law abiding citizens guns.

I'm just going by what's given to me here.

get rid of SSRIs and maybe do a serious revue of what passes for a mental health INDUSTRY in the US

No offense, but I think there is a failure in basic Civics here.

The PRESIDENT does not make the laws. Congress does...Specifically the GOP run House of Representatives. The option for him to create new laws does not exist. He only has the option sign or veto laws that are sent to him.

He can issue executive orders and directives aimed at how laws are enforced by Federal Agencies (Administration) ...though not State Level...and he has done some of that with Guns.

The fact that people don't immediately scratch their head at a headline that begins with "Only 2 Gun Laws By Obama"...scares the hell out of me.

1. The BATFE under the direction of the Obama Justice Dept. banned the importation of 7N6 5.45x39 ammunition.

They also banned smoke grenades too because they reclassified them as 'explosvies' !

The BATFE makes it up as they go along.
