I have a friend who was broken into, because the perp(s) saw a couple of cardboard moving boxes through the window. When the person or person opened the boxes, they quickly discovered that the contents were...work clothes for the restaurant where she worked. The perps were so angry at her for NOT having "nice things" that they defecated and urinated on the clothes, then used the feces to write something like "get some $, witch" on walls.

You may get beaten down for merely being present; or because your kids earn decent grades, or because you're the wrong color or whatever.

A gun is a tool. As tool-using apes, we apply tools to leverage our situation in life. I understand that you don't like a particular type of tool. That's fine, but you'll need to remember that other people will be playing by another set of rules, when it suits them.

They may not realize you are "not a target" until it's too late.


I say that because I remember graffiti on a wall I saw in Belfast. A bomb had blown some children to bits. Even the organization's supporters had difficulty supporting it. The next day, this phrase was spray painted on the wall above the dried blook of innocents:

"You Are A Legitimate Target."

I only discovered recently that our lack of want and greed was protecting us.

I had a neighbor that got broken into 7 times.

After the last time he got 2 big dogs that bark really loud.

No more break ins since then.

So if you wanna survive in America without a gun. Get a scary looking dog.

We all read well sir. The difference here is the tone you exhibit. And animosity. No need to live like a bum, have simple things (unless you want to)...just so you dont get touched by crime.

Seems wrong to deny your kids futures of having nice things by showing them its safer not to....? Crime will still happen. Take a stand and protect your family.

IS it fear that makes you afraid to have nice things because there a chance something criminal MAY happen to you?

There will still be knives, bats and fryin' pans.....dont have them either?

Lol, theres this thing I do, when ever I've had heated debate, with any member where the attitude has dropped that level of debate...

I friend them on here.

Not all the time, I do that to people I like as well. (now everyone whose ever gottten one from me is gonna be like WTF?, not all just some)

But usually after they have gone on a tirade against me, Ill friend them.

Messes with them on another level, gotten some funny responses from doing that.

If I wanted to look and live like a bum...I'd have not worked my whole life for what I have now. My amazing daughter wouldn't have made her first trip to Europe by the age of 13. I guess my whole quality of life would have been less than I have to look back on now. It was an uphill climb, and very satisfying most of the time. I've owned guns my whole life, and have never had to turn one on another human ...yet. But, I like knowing that if it should ever come to protecting me and those I love. I have the means and training to do so.

I take it when you say living in America with NO guns...you are also including the police who appear to be escalating in their using excessive force on unarmed citizens, and criminals who are never lacking in guns used on unarmed citizens.

If you take all their guns away first...then get back to me...

Seriously though? Other than you attacking everyone in this thread, what's your FREAKIN POINT?????

Not every criminal is out to steal things, that's a pretty ignorant way to think.
You may live in squalor, but that doesn't make you any less of a target.
Do you have daughters? They could break in thinking "This guy doesn't have #, I doubt he has a security system, or a gun."
It may make you an easier target if those criminals are trying to get their rape on. Or maybe just want to terrorize your family. They might not steal anything but the life of your sons or daughters.

Point is, criminals aren't just after "the finer things in life". If you want to live that way, it's your call. I don't blame you, but you're a fool if you think the criminal element is going to ignore you.
If I were you, I would have a backup plan.

Everyone has their environment dictate their behavior, the key is to be aware and adjust accordingly.

Just by being raised in Detroit, it dictates your whole outlook and world view.

The key is to understand, that that is a limited observation set, and that your experience may not be the typical one in general.

I can't tell if you are being serious, or fictitious to illustrate a point, but you clearly don't seem to be concerned with having open dialogue.

No, this isn't because you're an American.

It's because you live in a bad neighborhood with high crime.

You don't know how to live without guns? MOVE.

Plenty of states in the Mid West that have way lower crime rates than Detriot.

You title should be what life would look like in the world. America is the last place of true liberty because of one reason.......GUNS. The world would lose it's right to free speech and press. And if you think you are a slave now............





I know many will not buy into what I am saying but in reality there are only 2 things holding back TPTB........Internet.......US gun rights.
