Who's side is God on now? USA or Russia?

Politics... can't live with em cant live without them.

Russia's showboating and the U.S I'm not sure what they're doing, all I know is that nothing good can come out of this.
I Hope it's not another religious war in the end. Not many people are too fond of war in the name of their god/god's.
To imagine the lives that could be lost it's tragic to think this is how far people will go for their religions.

One verse comes to mind when I think about what Russia seems to be doing.

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

Maybe not so much the last part but it seems they are leading the first part of that verse.

In light of the threads title relative to the title of this article "Whose Side Is God on Now?" there surely is cause for wonder - I searched all pages of the thread and found no mention of this important article by Patrick Buchanan; convert to the one true Church, stellar political analyst and defender of the faith.

Reading his article on Vladimir Putin will bring one to a clearer understanding of all things Russian as pertains to the modern world and the battle between East and West; Russia and the USA; Putin and Obama: culturally, philosophically, morally, religiously, spiritually, militarily, Geo-politically, and the list goes on. Not reading Patrick Buchanan's article on Vladimir Putin will leave you in the dust as per up-to-date information regarding the present state of affairs in the entire world - not merely Russia vs USA.

I decided to post the entire article here since it isn't that long. This in the hopes that it gets read, but I will not be surprised if not too many members here will be interested enough to read it all the way through, which (IMHO) say's much about the intellectual acumen of many "low information" members here on ATS, who seem to be just a notch above or below the level of the average requirements needed for a G.E.D. diploma - not all mind you, but many.

In his Kremlin defense of Russia's annexation of Crimea, Vladimir Putin, even before he began listing the battles where Russian blood had been shed on Crimean soil, spoke of an older deeper bond.
Crimea, said Putin, "is the location of ancient Khersones, where Prince Vladimir was baptized. His spiritual feat of adopting Orthodoxy predetermined the overall basis of the culture, civilization and human values that unite the peoples of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus."
Russia is a Christian country, Putin was saying.
This speech recalls last December's address where the former KGB chief spoke of Russia as standing against a decadent West:
"Many Euro-Atlantic countries have moved away from their roots, including Christian values. Policies are being pursued that place on the same level a multi-child family and a same-sex partnership, a faith in God and a belief in Satan. This is the path to degradation."
Heard any Western leader, say, Barack Obama, talk like that lately?
Indicting the "Bolsheviks" who gave away Crimea to Ukraine, Putin declared, "May God judge them."
What is going on here?
With Marxism-Leninism a dead faith, Putin is saying the new ideological struggle is between a debauched West led by the United States and a traditionalist world Russia would be proud to lead.
In the new war of beliefs, Putin is saying, it is Russia that is on God's side. The West is Gomorrah.
Western leaders who compare Putin's annexation of Crimea to Hitler's Anschluss with Austria, who dismiss him as a "KGB thug," who call him "the alleged thief, liar and murderer who rules Russia," as the Wall Street Journal's Holman Jenkins did, believe Putin's claim to stand on higher moral ground is beyond blasphemous.
But Vladimir Putin knows exactly what he is doing, and his new claim has a venerable lineage. The ex-Communist Whittaker Chambers who exposed Alger Hiss as a Soviet spy, was, at the time of his death in 1964, writing a book on "The Third Rome."
The first Rome was the Holy City and seat of Christianity that fell to Odoacer and his barbarians in 476 A.D. The second Rome was Constantinople, Byzantium, (today's Istanbul), which fell to the Turks in 1453. The successor city to Byzantium, the Third Rome, the last Rome to the old believers, was — Moscow.
Putin is entering a claim that Moscow is the Godly City of today and command post of the counter-reformation against the new paganism.
Putin is plugging into some of the modern world's most powerful currents.

I wrote it wrong, he managed to convince Cyrus to rebuild Jerusalem for the Jews. In the sense that the Jews went back to Jerusalem you could say Daniel also did, for him and any other man is connected.

That's better . It is believed that Daniel may have went to work with Zoroaster after and that he pointed out the star the wise men would see in the future when the King of Kings would be born .The gifts the wise men brought could have been Daniels gift to Him ...peace

ETA . I don't think Daniel convinced to rebuild Jerusalem at that time .Cyrus were letting all thew slaves of Babylon to return to their own countries and to worship their gods .The Jews were only one group that Babylon had taken into captivity at that time ...Daniel doesn't seem to have been involved in the decree to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem as at that time they had concluded that in order to rebuild the Temple they had to secure the city . I forget now which profit it was that was working in the Persian Govt. at the time but Daniel doesn't seem to be mentioned .I could be wrong though .Just going by memory ....peace

I think the question will be for him is will he enjoy the world with homesexuality indoors or outdoors. I bet he will just flip a coin then just do the opposite. I'm thinking that he values the traditional family unit. The real question is how many people will our pres. let die to try to take away the suffering from biblical curses and undermine our chance to pay our dues in privite without mind munching our children. If the us were to take a turn indoors with the spiritual debt and accept the payment of the cross then we would be rewarded. Give any one who wants it a civil union and leave marriage back to the traditional family unit. Same benefits for all exceptmarrige will be through the church and union through the state. Keep it in your pants when in public or learn russian and chineese communism.

God doesn't side with anybody. You only think that God sides with a nation or a person. People place human emotions, thoughts, and feelings onto God. But God doesn't function at all like people in the physical plane. He is outside our world, a reality that is ONENESS. We are currently in a reality that is Two. So you are thinking in Two. So you believe that God is either siding with this nation or that nation. But in reality, God wants to see both sides go through their separate paths. In God's Eye (notice I say only a single eye, not two), either country's path are equal, neither are better than the other.

The implementation of religious teachings to one countries or individuals life is walking in the footsteps of God. God doesn't side with anybody, your right, the question is whether we want to side with God through the teachings of the scriptures.

Fascinating thread in many ways and the answer is somewhat surprising.

In the US we have about an 73% self identified christian population. Russia has about a 45% self identified christian population. But of course those numbers are rubbish. For most so called christians, Jesus has about the same impact on their lives as Santa Claus. These are the christian atheists who don't let christianity interfere with their hedonistic lifestyles.

In the US, the Barna poll has shown us that the only distinguishing worldview between christians and heathens is whether or not you have a basic christian worldview. If you do your negative social statistics, divorce, drug use etc. go way down. The christian worldview is pathetically basic and yet only 4% of Americans actually have such a worldview.

Is there an equivalent differentiator in Russia? I speculate that those in the unaffiliated christian churches in Russia are more likely to hold to a fundamental christian worldview, simply because the larger christian institutions have been infiltrated and are corrupt. What is that number for Russia? 4% , the same as in America .

Now the leadership of each country is a different story. Both are self aggrandizing but only Russia's leadership is actually trying to improve the well being of it's own people, and only Russia is actually promoting a form of christianity, Russian orthodoxy.

The US government by contrast promotes satanism, atheism, and statism and is hell bent on destroying it's own people. The US government is the enemy of it's people. This is so obvious based on it's tax policy, it's pro immorality, it's anti-christian bias, it's foreign interventionism and the boneheaded police state tactics such as what is going on, on a Nevada ranch right now.

I would say based on this, that God hates the US government, though God may be allowing such monstrosities as the Obama administration as a punishment against the godlessness, immorality, and complacency of the American christian atheist.

I wouldn't go as far as saying God hates the US government but more along the lines of the US Government believe their ideology is superior to that of the Bible. But if the Russians are going to use the Bible to counter the ideologies of the West, I find this very interesting.

Well to be fair, God does not hate the people that make up the government. They are all sinners needing the grace of God, just like the rest of us. However they espouse an ideology that God does hate and will oppose and defeat in the end. That ideology is basically that we are god and will craft our own utopia independent of God's interference.

Hitler had the same idea and was purported to have said that he just wanted God to leave him alone in order to create his new world order. Stalin and the other utopian dreamers have the same thoughts with the same outcome, a lot of dead people. The elite at the core, however are utterly cynical, corrupt and self aggrandizing. God will deal with them personally I believe.
