Tea Party Support Dwindles To Record Low 22%

This poll is quite misleading. We are too far out from the November mid-term elections, and people are not generally engaged in politics until 30 days prior to the election. Make no mistake, the Tea Party will be out in huge numbers in this upcoming Nov. mid-term election, while many young Democrats will stay home and not vote at all. These elections run in cycles, and this one will be no different. Expect significant gains in the House and Senate by the Republican Party, with Tea Party activists and voters showing up in large numbers at the only polls that count - on election day.

The Tea Party is a counter revolution to the revolutionary authoritarians that have taken over the government. I don't believe it's 20% , but that is a still higher than both Republicans and Democrats. I believe they are gaining momentum.

Wow, Gallup is really loosing credibility.
They polled only 1500 people. I had that many in high school!
"Survey Methods Results for this Gallup poll are based on telephone interviews conducted Sept. 5-8, 2013, with a random sample of 1,510 adults, aged 18 and older, living in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia." [/quote

You are correct. I taught Research Methods in college. That is too small a sample for an organization like Gallup, a poll is not considered accurate until it reaches the 3000 mark. Even then one must question it. What were the questions asked? The questions can skew a poll in the desired direction very easily.

i.e. (good question) Which political party do you most identify with? Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Green, Tea Party

(bad question) The tea party is seen by many as radical and dangerous. Do you support the Tea Party? (biased question)

(bad question) Would you vote for a tea party candidate? (scary in light of our current illiberal intolerance)

Their question would fall under bad question because the mainstream media has demonized the Tea Party, as well as the Democrats and old Republican Party guard have publicly demonized the Tea Party. And as we all know ....

It is becoming DANGEROUS for people to admit to any but their highly trusted very close family and friends privately held ideas that are not in line with progressive, liberal, Democratic Party ideas.

For example: The CEO of Mozilla was fired, not for how he behaved in the workplace, not for how he treated people, not for workplace discrimination, but for a privately held idea never expressed in the workplace or to any employee.

Troll or Shill , I can't Tell the Difference Anymore . The Tea Party will One Day give Birth to the Common Mans Party which will Crush the Neo Cons and Socialists who presently Infest this Great Nation .

The tea party = Koch$$$ = corporate

Now when the Pirate Party has someone running for the US presidency, then you will know changes are on the way. My reasons for this opinion is the Pirate Party is anti corporate in nature.

Pirates for President!!!

As for the OP it is refreshing to see something other than Obama bashing here! Do I support the Corporately owned Obama?

Hell no!!!,

Anyway, your obvious political alignment aside, most, if not all of the planet as well as a rapidly increasing number of US citizens can now clearly see that your 2 party system is a big fat train-wreck of a joke.

Both sides lie to get the vote, and both sides lie when in power.

Here is a little reminder of that truth......... - See more at:

These videos should be posted every time there is a partisan thread. It's too bad we still have citizens who blindly think their party doesn't lie and than actually believe they represent their interests. When congress has a favorable rating of just 9%, it's amazing that voters continue to vote in incumbents.

So the "Tea Party", a fringe element of the GOP and not a standalone Party, has 22% support all by itself? Interesting.

What makes you think a politician who is too far right is going to win?
McCain and Romney lost big time, both were by Tea-Potty standards "moderates" or "rinos".

You'll never see these quasi 3rd parties win (Tea-Potty or Libertenian) because they jump on the GOP bandwagaon.
Guilty by association.

Go truly independant or go home.

The teapartiers are so deeply embarrassing. They are the dumbed down knuckledraggers that have slept in caves in the bible belt and the south for centuries. However, they do have some dumb white people that have never read a book in their lives that follow them. They are retards.

Just check out their signage. Ha ha. It has been the butt of many jokes.

They are FRINGE!!!!!!! And are used by billionaires to gotv cuz they are so stupid. Stupid!!

They are brought along by billionaires that have spent decades amassing an empire of non-profits and think tanks.

Someone needs to read a book.

That's because the Tea Party was a rebranding scheme for the GOP. The party was devastated after Bush's performance and they needed a platform to ensure that Conservatives didn't loose all their political power to a newly elected president.

Now it is safe for the costumes to come off. These stats make sense

A new Washington Post/ABC News poll shows that despite the many, many eulogies that have been delivered for the tea party over the past four years -- obituaries that reached a fever pitch following the government shutdown -- GOP support for the movement has remained mostly unchanged since early 2013.

Among Democrats and independents, support for the tea party is on the upswing.

Newer poll shows tea party support remains steady

Hooray for Dixie !!!!

The support for Tea Party ideals is probably much higher than anyone would suspect.

But the Soviet-style approach that the current regime has to anyone not obeying the party line has made people afraid to speak openly about their support.

Not going to happen. U can't go independent and be relavent in today's age. It's all about inflitration. Unfortunately, no fredom loving people would inflitrate the Democrat party because they are too far left to change. Wow such amature proposition.
