Then you haven't paid attention in history class...American soldiers HAVE fired on American citizens in the past....and I have no doubt they will again.

This question comes up often and the answers people give are beyond silly.

in the last 10 years 5000 AMERICANS have been killed by the police. The POLICE are more then willing to take their tanks, their body armor, their assault weapons and KILL their neighbors.

OF COURSE the military will kill their own citizens, they were hired to take orders - period. They were not hired to "defend" or "protect" but take orders. If they are ordered to take guns, or imprison or kill their neighbors and family they will without hesitation.

BUT................. they do not have to. Getting around the whole military in the US thing can be hard, but the police are more then capable of doing the job. They have gleefully killed 5000 in ten years and have just been handed millions of fun tools to use.

Once. But they were all too busy sitting around watching TV and talking about doing something to actually bite me. Millions of them, in fact, while their home was being destroyed by gross negligence on my part. It was quite an unbelievable sight.

On the record I have 0 firearms and a have no plans to change that.

You are correct! Look no farther than what happened in New Orleans with the hurricane!

The lesson there is what the cops did.

Most of them deserted. That's your 'good' ones.

The ones who stayed displayed sterling behavior - looting and murdering among them. I especially liked the story of the guy having a heart attack who was carried to a cop stop - they put the guy in a car, drove him off a bit, poured gas on him and burned him to death in the car. And it wasn't "one bad cop", it was a group.

Or the Danziger bridge shooters. Yeah, the cops weren't your buddy in NOLA. They won't be anywhere.

However, down town a couple of retired operators set up a safe zone and started rescuing civilians. You didn't hear that one a lot on the MSM but it was on the local news. Kept the trash at bay until they could be choppered out.

Isn't there some sort of fail-safe in place amongst armed forces in the event that our government orders the military to disarm/attack civilians? I remember hearing about it from my father (Vietnam Vet) but cannot remember the name of it, nor can I find anything about it on a quick google hunt.
