Like this?
I still have never seen so many buoys in event mode has anyone else?

There will occasionally be one or two that are going haywire, but I've never seen this before. Sometimes an individual buoy will be clipped by a passing whale or something and read strangely, but there's an awful lot of them that just did a big dip for one cycle. It's like the whole Pacific Ocean just sloshed.

One of the Japanese sites (hard to read, in Japanese only) looked like they just got a 0.5 meter tsunami, another read like the water had receded but hadn't returned back to shore yet... :-(

8.2 followed by a 7.6 sounds like bad news to me, but I'm no seismologist.

There was a large aftershock of 7.6 in Chile around that time. It takes time for all that energy to pass around the globe and be picked up by the seismos so the listed times will vary slightly even though they are reflecting the exact same event.

ETA: I'm guessing that once all those "quakes" are reviewed they will disappear. That sort of thing happens frequently enough.

Where next?

And on what scale?

I've seen worse but this is typical of the no thought alarmist attitude that prevails on this site.
Some folks should never pick up a Dan Brown book. They mistake fiction for reality.

Obviously your father's friend is a conspiracy theorist.
You don't find it hard to believe that if this were true in any way shape or form that they would tell him this?' Really ? If he were high up enough to be in this cabalistic loop why would he talk?
Wouldn't he be risking his life telling tales out of school?

You don't have to be one.

These numbers speak for themselves.
