IAM seems so direct and integrative that there is a intuition in us that tells us: maybe i will not die. Maybe i was not coming into existence with birth. Maybe IWAS before that.

This thought is very much at the heart of what I was trying to convey.
But the language always fails me, or I simply fail the language...

Imagine this vast universe, and all of its possibilities for life. Billions of
galaxies and trillions of stars...more unique solar systems surround us than
there are grains of sand on all the beaches of the world...many times over.

I believe it is naive to think that we are the singular instance of life amidst
all this possibility. But even if it were, how strange it is that I find myself
where I am, and when I am--sequestered in this body that houses my
awareness.

And why should I even have this awareness? What causes it? Seems to me to
be a scientifically valid question to ask. But when science asks this question
they seem to look only at the rudiments involved--like others in this thread
have done--the sperm and the egg, or to render it even further to carbon
atoms and molecules and protein strands of DNA.

The thing is, I understand those concepts. I understand that I am really
nothing more than a cooperating conglomeration of trillions of cells. That
all of the people, and all of the life around me is all made up of the very same
conglomeration of perfectly placed bits of stardust.

But it still doesn't answer the question of my singular consciousness.
Or the why here? Or why now? aspect...

I could have sprung into existence at anytime in history--a hundred thousand
years in the past or a hundred thousand years in the future. Or perhaps
as a completely different life form on another planet somewhere in the past
or future.

Or I simply could not have ever existed....

So I look at it this way and render it down to two possibilities.

Either there was an (as yet) unrealized blueprint for me floating around
in the cosmos before I came into being. This blueprint detailed every
nuance of what it took to construct me in just such a way, that when chance
allowed, DNA took over and constructed this unique mash-up of life,
that could house only one conscious entity...and that entity is me.

OR

I, (my consciousness, my spirit, my soul, my essence--or however you
wish to describe it--whether keeping within the confines of
science, or expanding into some unknown realm) have always existed,
but as yet, was unaware.

I feel I could continue on forever without actually conveying any understanding.
I realize life is a riddle without an answer, and for some it's just too complex
a problem to be tackling when they have so little time to simply just experience
the life they have discovered themselves in.

For some it is easier to attach themselves to some pre-existing dogma, or
philosophy, and render the question moot, freeing up lots of time to
just access and enjoy the life they have...

But for me, I just can't quit asking...even when I know there is no
answer available.

I concur, and repeat, that it is a choice.

No the reason we dont advance is because of people who ridicule others for trying other and new approaches..
Its not about that you believe existence of an individual begins with birth..Everyone knows that...

So ..are you just ignorant, a little bit narrow or do you want to provoke?

Moral condescension does not invalidate my opinion. Nor does hypocrisy.

Maybe you can explain how your ideas are "new approaches"? Reincarnation, transmigration of souls, having a purpose, and the afterlife are ideas that are thousands of years old. As you trail-blaze with your ideas, there are people that actually do care about and value the facts of the matter, and find them beautiful enough to be reasonable answers to these questions.

My original post was an attempt at humour.

The why for me is: I don't know.

I always joked about how I was adopted, or that my label was switched at birth because growing up, it just seemed like I didn't "fit" with the family. The rest of them all think about pretty much the same things, do the same things, and it sometimes seems like I'm the "black sheep". Can't help but wonder if another soul was meant to be in my position.

The when is off to me as well - My feel on it is that I should have been "born" way earlier than I was by about 10 years or so.

As for the why & when now? All I can say is this: There were several times in the past where had I not been there, someone would have gotten hurt, or even died. I helped by being there for the friends that needed me, even if it meant suffering myself. If that's why I was meant to be here, then I'm glad I was, because I was the perfect person for the job.

Why am I here?
A common question I guess.
I guess luck, right conditions and parent's (that's where I get the eyes, nose, ears simple genetics). I don't have to exist, from experience I know that death can come anytime and anywhere. I just keep a promise to keep on fighting till the very end, and if there is a heaven or hell, I'm going to fight my way through both just to enjoy a simple oblivion. Immortality and reincarnation would become far to boring for my liking.

Its really a doorway...

Well from the view if you look at us as a spiritual being... I feel like we are put in a physical form to experience what its like to be human and have feelings and thoughts etc. Also we have been given a blank slate when we start out so we have no real idea what to do or direction to go. So i would go with the theory that learning all you can about anything and everything is a prime goal, also Always keeping an open mind and being aware of other humans/spirits and trying your best to keep them happy and to have an open mind encouraging them to consider all options and possibilities and the outcomes of all of them.
Also Love and Happiness is a Good option. Avoid being afraid or fearful and if you don't like something try not Immediately discount it or dismiss it, look into it and think about it, Then you will learn from it and move in the right direction.
So i guess Higher consciousness is the goal..

But why are we here, in a human form. existing... You tell me. Now that is a Deep Question

I believe I am a spirit that existed before birth. I am in this world as a natural progression towards truth. The truth is revealed to us in our life experience. In this world we grow into reality and truth.

Earth is the true proving-grounds...

We are created for HIS pleasure... not ONE of us is here by accident.

The biggest loss for humans is to die without finding out who they really were and WHY they were really born. - See more at: www.abovetopsecret.com...

After studying NDE's and supernatural encounters for many years I began to see a pattern emerge.

This convinced me that all of us have a specific purpose and NONE of us is here by accident.

Connecting with that purpose should be every ones goal in life.

We all have scroll prepared by God before we were conceived in our mother’s womb. It’s important we discover what is written on it so we can walk in it and fulfill our Testimony; for it is on this that we will be judged and rewarded. At the end of this life Jesus will compare what we have done with what we should have done with our lives. We have a lifetime to discover what is on our scroll and work it out and achieve it.

Your Scroll and Testimony \\\\\\\\ The Testimony of Your Scroll MP3

You ought to read the book of Ecclesiastes. It is in the Bible. I don't know your belief system, but don't let that deter you. It is considered by some the most perfect writing on "the meaning of life". I think at the very least you will find it interesting. Where are we now?

"Ian explains how each person receives their scroll out of heaven at the time of conception."

The Testimony of Your Scroll

When we are walking on the path that God has prepared for us, when we are walking in our destiny, then we know God is with us. And we need to know what is our destiny, what is written on our scroll: and if we do not know, then we can ask God to show us.

Understanding The Times

God is Love. That is His very nature. It was what caused Him to create the universe and to create every one of us. And Love wants the best; God wants the best for us, for each of us. He knows what the best is for each of us, that best is already written on a scroll, if you read Psalm 139 it says that He knew you before you were even born. Already on that scroll in heaven your whole life is set out, His will for your life, and He wants to reveal it to you. He wants you to know the best. Truth

God wants to reveal all that you need for your life and destiny. God wants to disclose what is to come for us as individuals, for our life, for our destiny in God; he wants to reveal the things he has already prepared for us before the foundation of the world. As that scripture tells us, the Holy Spirit came to reveal to us those things that are to come.

Now the choice is, are you listening to Him? Have you seen your future destiny? If you have seen it, you can have it, that’s how it works. In fact you have to see it in order to have it, and you cannot have it unless you have seen it. ‘Faith is the substance of things hoped for’, that is to say, the things you have seen in the spirit. In the realm of the spirit, God wants to show all of us the things that are our destiny. He wants to show us what was written on our scroll in heaven before we were even thought of in a worldly sense.
