Boy don't this beat all. A gun control advocate smuggling guns.

I guess the only guns they want to control are yours.

A California state senator who advocated gun control legislation asked for campaign donations in exchange for introducing an undercover FBI agent to an arms trafficker and told him how to get shoulder-fired automatic weapons and missiles from a Muslim separatist group in the Philippines, according to court documents unsealed Wednesday

In May 2012, together with Senator Kevin de León, Senator Yee proposed legislation to ban any semi-auto rifle that had a "conversion kit" that makes the rifle a "fixed magazine rifle." SB 249 would ban conversion kits and rifles. According to his press release, "Absent this bill, California's assault weapon ban is significantly weakened. For the safety of the general public, we must close this loophole."[59] Senator Yee is quoted as saying, "It is extremely important that individuals in the state of California do not own assault weapons. I mean that is just so crystal clear, there is no debate, no discussion."[60]

Not only a smuggler but he also drafted gun legislation. Man this guy is a real piece of work. These are the people we elected to preserve justice.

We have so far to go to fix this crap.

There is also this from the blaze.

For his efforts to uphold the California Public Records Act, Yee was honored last week by the Northern California chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, which awarded him its public official citation for his efforts to maintain the requirements of the California Public Records Act.

I am so disgusted by this story. I don't even know what to say.

Right! You would think with the corruption of the current administration they would have buried this somehow. So you could be on to something. Wonder who it was that he pissed off?

Well it's not the people, that's for sure. You can sell arms, start wars, profit off drugs to fund black projects, nobody cares.

Just don't have an affair, or send explicit pictures.

'Mericar!

This is what Breitbart has to say.

One arms trafficker Yee allegedly discussed sourced weapons from Russia. Another trafficker, in an alleged meeting with Sen. Yee, political consultant Keith Jackson, and the FBI informant on March 11, 2014, allegedly discussed arms to be obtained from the Philippines. The affidavit claims the arms trafficker claimed personal relationships with Islamic rebels in the Philippines, though the weapons were supposedly to be obtained from sources inside the Philippine military.

This keeps getting better and better. Yee sounds like the poster boy for the Obama administration.

This is really not inconsistent. You pass restrictive gun laws and the price goes up, more to be made especially on black market good stuff. Same with drugs.

Poster boy of today's politics. Say publicly one thing...do the opposite when no one is looking. The first is about votes and public opinion, which is than used for the second...and that is...satisfying private (or party) financial interests.

The saddest part is...many people are still innocently believing what an official word states....and they vote based upon it.

Beyond sad...

The more against a thing somebody appears the more involved in that thing they are.

Homophobic right-wing crusaders get caught with same-sex prostitutes, virtually all statists get caught with drugs and the rabidly anti-gun lefties either smuggle in arms for their buddies, contribute to the street arms trade through "buyback" schemes or simply support their statist pals keeping all the guns pointed at their constituents.

We're to the point where this idea has moved from joke to theory and now it's sitting on the doorstep of fact.
A politician tells me he's anti a thing and I have to wonder how much kiddie porn is on his computer and how many kilos of coc aine are stacked in his closet.

It's easy to be anti-gun when you're pro armed security guards 24/7. Hypocrites and psychotics all of them.

This reminds me of the prosecutors known for being hardest on child abuse or sexual crimes....later convicted of being baby rapers themselves. There have been a few more of those than I think anyone is comfortable about admitting to in polite conversation.

I'm coming to see, albeit a little late in life....those who scream loudest are often, secretly, the most experienced on the issue at hand ...by participating in the behavior themselves.

Like he said here himself......

It is extremely important that individuals in the state of California do not own assault weapons. I mean that is just so crystal clear, there is no debate, no discussion.

Spoken like the true tyrant he turns out to be, if while speaking such anti-American words, he was actually turning personal profit in peddling the very items he says, without debate or discussion, normal people cannot be trusted to even possess.

I'm not asking how this happened...I'm asking HOW MANY MORE ARE THERE..just like him?

So you're a cop and advocate of gun control? I must like raping kids because I'm very much against it. This is dumbassery at it's finest.

Also, screw you ATS I'm leaving the forced links in every time.

Shame on him.
Selling out his childrens future for financial gain...
There is a place for him and everyone else in an official position who betrays the publics trust, at the end of a rope.
Traitors need to swing, that would help bring this republic back under control.

There is a lot wrong with that line of thinking as transposed onto the real world but I spit out my pop reading it. Priceless.

Maybe I am.

There's a line that's crossed when a person makes a thing into a crusading cause.

When I'm being carried on shoulders and making speeches or running for office on my dislike of law enforcement, for example, then you should be very suspicious.

Think of it as the difference between a Mormon knocking on a door for his god and the English storming Jerusalem swords a swinging for their god.

Of course nothing is 100%. That's sort of why I said becoming fact rather than is fact. I just get terribly suspicious of single cause crusaders and from what I see around me not without good cause.

That is what the president does, and his lackey at the DOJ.

From arms deals to the middle east arming two bit dictators, to arming the flip side of that coin to arming them 'freedom' fighters in the ME.

To arming drug cartels in Mexico.

No gun control advocate has any 'moral' high ground what so ever.

You mean for the GOP don't you? It was the Obama Administration that busted him? Or are Federal Agents no longer "Obama" in GOP rhetoric under these circumstances?

As for the arms trafficking. It is strange to see the right cheering cracking down on arms trafficking?...Aren't they usually doing the opposite? Arguing any restriction on weapons sales or background checks are an affront to the constitution??

There is certainly hypocracy here...And not just this Yee character.

Yep. I think that those concentrating on the profit motive are missing the forest for the trees. We've already seen it with Fast and Furious at the national level. Like that one, I suspect this is more a case about gun control and 'the ends justifying the means'. It just so happened that this little turd got caught trying to make some cash in the process.

These people disgust me.
