The guy was pushing a distribution cartel.

Outlaw a product.
Kill off competition.
Jack up the price.
Sell the product.

I have to say, seen from the outside this reminds me a little of your US war of drugs.

Very much so.. There is debate about allowing hemp products back into the market. Something congress was reviewing.

As for this I think its the tip of the iceberg. The number of politicians who are all of a sudden retiring / not seeking reelection / under investigation / facing charges is skyrocketing. I am thinking, at some point, some politician is going to flip and bring down the whole rotten mess.

My hope, too.. but it's ugly how the most visible and credible have the most accidents.
I'm almost convinced everybody in a position to do something really positive by now is too afraid to get some on him/her, it's seeming that bad.
