Huge investigations/scandals coming to a close here in California, all involving Democrat legislators, which is a little surprising because we know most of them (including Republicans) are dirty. I suppose Democrats feel less paranoid because of how much power they hold in Sacramento and are thus much more careless in how they conduct business (aka breaching public trust). This conclusive arrest of Sen.Yee is due to several years of investigations on him, I only hope that the FBI wraps up more investigations on other public officials in due time, breaking several arrests within the last year like this forces other politicians to stop their dirty work, or simply just hide it even better. This not only looks like a great year for Republicans on the national level (Obamacare) but for state races in California too (Democratic indictments and also Obamacare just generally hurts all Democrats in all races).

www.kcra.com...

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KCRA) —State Sen. Leland Yee was escorted into San Francisco's Federal Building wearing handcuffs after he was arrested Wednesday morning.
Just after 7 a.m., the FBI confirmed with KCRA 3 that it was conducting raids at homes and businesses in the Bay Area and Sacramento. Included in the raids was a building in San Francisco's Chinatown housing a group called Ghee Kung Tong, a masonic organization. A spokeswoman for the FBI would not elaborate because the raids were ongoing, but did confirm that the agency served search warrants and made multiple arrests. Yee represents California's 8th Senate District, which covers about half of San Francisco. He is a candidate for California secretary of state, according to his website.

The report of Yee's arrest comes just one month after Los Angeles-area Democrat Ron Calderon pleaded not guilty to charges that he accepted $100,000 in bribes in return for pushing legislation, charges that could send him to federal prison for years.

Earlier in the year, Sen. Rod Wright, D-Inglewood, was convicted in a perjury and voter fraud case.

All I can say is the authorities must be racist! /end sarcasm

Good! I don't care what political party anyone belongs too! If you are involved in MAKING THE LAWS? Then the punishment should be MORE SEVERE than for those whom break them!

But as we all know, my ideas just don't jive with the reality of the corrupt officials whom LOVE controlling us!

Nice catch, now what the heck is going on with a Chinese Masonic organization being involved. Truth is stranger than pulp fiction.

You have to wonder how many more politicians just haven't been caught. I'm sure corruption in politics just doesn't center around this guy.

In 1992, Yee was arrested for the alleged shoplifting of a bottle of tanning oil from the KTA Superstore in Kona's Keauhow Shopping Village. The case was not prosecuted, as Yee disappeared before he could be prosecuted.

I am starting to wonder if this is linked into some much bigger and nation wide. Over the last 5 years we have seen a spike in elected officials at all levels of government being involved in corruption / fraud.

Rhode Island just had something similar occur a week or so ago.

Interesting enough the investigations / prosecutions are occurring at the state levels.

ETA - I forgot - The DOJ recently declined to criminally investigate Reid(D) and Lee(R).

Oh God it just gets better and better. The anti-gun crusader was smuggling in weapons for organized gangs:

In a further attempt of Keith Jackson and Senator Yee to gain more money from UCE 4599, in Augist 2013, Keith JAckson told UCE 4599 that Senator Yee, had a contact who deals in arms trafficking. This purported arms dealer was later identified. Jackson requested UCE 4599 to provide a campaign donation on behalf of Senator Yee, for Senator Yee to facilitate a meeting with the arms dealer with the intent of UCE 4599 to purportedly purchase a large number of weapons to be imported through the Port of Newark, New Jersey. During a meeting with UCE 4599, Senator Yee and Keith Jackson, Senator Yee discussed certain details of the specific types of weapons UCE 4599 was interested in buying and importing.

Next time Bloomberg or now DeBlasio gets all uppity about guns coming into New York or New Jersey he should rather than place blame on other state put it where it belongs: West-coast anti-gun Democrats.

Full affidavit

He was really something. Willing to accept money from whoever and do absolutely whatever.

A 137-page criminal complaint charges 26 people -- including Yee and Chow -- with a panoply of crimes, including firearms trafficking, money laundering, murder-for-hire, drug distribution, trafficking in contraband cigarettes, and honest services fraud.

Yee is charged with conspiracy to traffic in firearms without a license and to illegally import firearms, as well as six counts of scheming to defraud citizens of honest services.

Interesting..

It makes one wonder if the guns being smuggled were to be used in a manner that would support those who favor tighter gun control / restrictions.

The "omg look at all these guns being used in criminal acts we must ban all guns now wtfbbq...."

I used to work for the State of California and I can tell you 100% it's corrupt.

The experience changed me as a person.

And if the FBI is just arresting a couple, they aren't trying hard enough.

He should now push to be in charge of the ATF.

This guy is the poster child of the modern Anti-Gun Rights moron.

Do as I say, not as I do.

The guy was pushing a distribution cartel.

Outlaw a product.
Kill off competition.
Jack up the price.
Sell the product.

I have to say, seen from the outside this reminds me a little of your US war of drugs.

Very much so.. There is debate about allowing hemp products back into the market. Something congress was reviewing.

As for this I think its the tip of the iceberg. The number of politicians who are all of a sudden retiring / not seeking reelection / under investigation / facing charges is skyrocketing. I am thinking, at some point, some politician is going to flip and bring down the whole rotten mess.

You can say that again. Only you'd have to add one more step in there. Between Jack up Price and Sell the Product you would need to stick in "Make it legal for Certain companies (Drug Manufacturers) to Legally sell" what is Illegal for others to produce.

And it just might this election year, soldier. I'm starting to see an analogy of this "Do as I say.." thing to smokescreen the corruption to an adolescent cheerleader with a chocolate monkey. It's a sure thing another one's gonna pop up for the date
on the weekend-- because she likes chocolate.
