I find it idiotic to try to paint Russia as evil empire. When US and NATO has killed directly and indirectly over 1 million people in the last 14 years.

1 MILLION PEOPLE

that is a lot of dead bodies, Try to visualize it as you look for big bad bear Russia while your western tax dollars kill people and their children

Or that there are more prisoners in the US than any where else, so much so that it accounts for 25% of the "imprisoned" population of the world.

760 per 100,000 residents a number that out paces every nation you compare it to.

Something is indeed wrong,

We can continue to March to the agendas and Demonize the Russian.

OR perhaps we should be focusing internally at the clear and visible ills and dangers in our own nation.

Well I'm intrigued, and eager to see what learned scholars of scripture has to say. Your thread did have me pulling up my bible to read the context of the chapter though..

Revelation 17:10-29

10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
12 And the then horns which thous sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hours with the beast.

CdT

7 kings = 7 leaders of revivals of the Holy Roman Empire (Vatican + European governmental power).

This scripture was made known to an Apostle over God's Church during WW2 (circa 1940).

5 have fallen (1- Justinian, 2- Charlemagne, 3- Otto the Great, 4- Hapsburg Dynasty, 5 - Napoleon) and one is (6 - Hitler), and the other not yet come (future point in time as of the revealing of the interpretation of this scripture). And when he comes (the 7th revival), he must exist for a short period of time.

And the Beast that was (Holy Roman empire), and is not (currently existing), even he is the eighth (demonic spirit ruling over all 7 revivals), and is over the seven, and goes into destruction (speaking of Satan).

A revival of the Holy Roman empire will soon occur under the name of the United States of Europe, and they will last but a short while before the return of Jesus Christ.

God Bless,

Until they rebuild the 3rd Temple...no end of the world.

& for that to happen the Jews would have to knock down the Al-Aqsa Mosque - let me know how that works out

The temple is spiritual. The people in the Body of Christ are the "living stones" fit jointly together to form a Temple unto the Eternal, whose builder and maker is Christ.

The apostasy spoken of in Daniel and attributed by the Church of Laodicea in Revelation fulfilled the destruction of the "third temple" leaving "no stone left upon another" as all of God's people at that time were spewed out of God's mouth (rejected for their lukewarm spiritual attitude).

Physically thinking mankind, looking for a physical temple the be physically destroyed in physical Jerusalem will not grasp where we are in time.

Spiritually thinking mankind (those in the remnant church, where the carcass is), knowing by experience the spiritual temple whose maker and builder is Christ was already built and had already been destroyed spiritually (apostasy spoken of in Daniel), in spiritual Jerusalem (Jeru = way of life; salem = peace; Jerusalem = way of life which leads to peace) have to potential to know where we are in time.

Jesus Christ makes it very clear who makes up the Temple of the living God, it is the people, not the building on the Temple Mount.

God Bless,

Nothing fulfills Revelation .... because Revelation isn't prophecy.
Even the early Church .. up to the year 500 AD ... rejected Revelation as meaningless.
Polycarp himself rejected it. That's a HUGE rejection.
And no .. before anyone says it ... there is no pre-trib rapture in the bible.
So I hope no one says that the Church has to be raptured first. It isn't going to happen.

On January 8, 2008 the day that President Bush left the USA for Israel in order to lay the framework for the establishment of a Palestinian State and the division of Jerusalem for its capital , a freak 'January' tornado swept through a city in Bush's own country. The place hit was 'Jerusalem', Arkansas. (Tamar Yonah)

The tornado landed in pope county ARK. went through the town of Jerusalem and destroyed Mt. Zion community church...The tornado killed one person in Appleton named billy joe carter...ex president jimmy carter's brother's middle name - Alton

January 9, 2008 gwb2 is scheduled to take a short helicopter ride from Jerusalem to ramallah to have a meeting with the philistinian leaders, but is prevented by an unusual fog, that caused him to travel there in a motorcade, that was witnessed to have 70 vehicles in all...the same day an unusual fog happens in Florida and the worst traffic accident in the states history occurs..70 vehicles.. while jeb bush was the governor.

Hurricane Katrina hit the usa on the day that the Yahudim were no longer able return back to their homes in the gaza...a deal brokered, pressured upon Israel by the usa

The first mention of two states was by gwb2 in his Road map for Peace speech in 2002

on 10/9/2009 bho was given the nobel peace prize, because of two speeches he made earlier that year, 1 in turkey and 1 in egypt.... 10/9/2009 was the Seventh Day of Sukkot, the day is called Hosahana Rabbah...and the Final sealing of Judgment

Here is a prophecy Haggai had on the seventh day of Sukkot

2:1 In the seventh month, in the one and twentieth day of the month, came the word of YHWH by the prophet Haggai, saying,........

6 For thus saith YHWH of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;7And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith YHWH of hosts.

YESHUA on the seventh day of Sukkot said

Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Yeshua stood and cried out, saying, "If any man is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being shall flow rivers of living water.

" ‘With joy shall ye draw out of the wells of salvation’ " (Isaiah 12:3).

The people of the prince to come did destroy the city and the temple...syrian conscripts into the roman military who destroy the second temple.

That's just a bunch of thinly veiled anti-Protestant stuff that Catholics spew in an attempt to descredit Dispensational Theology and God's covenant with
Abraham.

Today's Israel may be a Zionist front, but God will call His true Hebrew believers out during the course of the tribulation. There are still prophecies to be fulfilled, and they will resume after the Rapture.

Revelation is the meeting place of the Old and New Testament. It prophetically ties the Bible together, and completes it. Furthermore, Revelation follows the same rhetorical syllable metering found only in the original languages of the OT and NT.

There is a special curse reserved for those who deliberately seek to discredit and/or distort the words of the Book of Revelation of Jesus Christ.

Revelation is the meeting place of the Old and New Testament.

Revelation is a dream sequence or a dementia riddled hallucination by a very old man who was living a stressful life in exile. He had lived his life steeped in Jewish law, prophecy and religion. OF COURSE when the dementia hallucinations kicked in, they'd be filled with old Jewish religious hallucinations. That's all he thought about. It's what he filled his life with. That's the most reasonable explanation of 'revelations'

There is a special curse reserved for those who deliberately seek to discredit and/or distort the words of the Book of Revelation ...

Oh brother ...

...of Jesus Christ.

No dude ... it was written by John as an old man. Not Jesus.

FACT - The leaders of the Church didn't accept 'Revelation until ~ 500 AD
FACT - Even with the leadership accepting it, many of the big names still rejected it. Like Polycarp.
FACT - Revelation is unnecessary for Salvation in Jesus.
FACT - 2,000 years of Church history and learned theologians studying it, and no one knows what - if anything - it means.

Believe what you want. Revelation is irrelevant.

There are two very important rules to follow when interpreting scripture:

1. Do not blindly follow the wisdom of highly esteemed men (1 Cor 3:18-21).

2. Test the spiritual content and context of any idea or document in question (1 John 4:1-3).

To the Spirit filled believer, the Old and New Testament fits together like a puzzle. The unified message glorifies Jesus as Messiah. The Book of Revelation is coherent to me, and it calibrates the sequence of prophecies from from the cross to the Eternal State. I dont care what Polycarp said or thought, my eyes are on the harmony found in the epistles.

The world didnt revolve around Polycarp, there were groups in the east and west that widely accepted the Book of Revelation. These were people who heeded God's word, not man's

Sources and links please or its just poo poo.

Crack open a book and do a little research. It's not hidden knowledge.
It's all there out in the open for anyone to see. History ... pure and simple historical fact.

Suggested reading for you -
'Revelation" The Navarre Bible Commentary
Where we got the bible - Henry G. Graham
A Biblical Defense of Catholicism - Dve Armstrong
The Bible and the Qu'ran - Jacques Jomier
The information on Revelation from those sources -

- The 'Apocalypse is 'Deuterocanonical' which means it was not accepted as sacred by all Christian communities. It's authenticity was suspect in parts of the Church. The Church in the East especially did not accept it. Deuterocanonical - not required belief.

- Authorship is questionable. Some early church fathers believe it was written by John. Others in the early church believe it was written by Cerinthus, a gnostic writer. Dionyisus rejected it.

- 4th Century. Writers of that period (Alogoi) rejected it. The school of Antioch denied both authenticity and canonicity. St. Cyril of Jerusalem, St. John Chrysostom, Theoderet all reject it. Council of Hippo (393) and Council of Carthage (397) accepted it as a council, however the people themselves and many church fathers rejected it.

- 6th Century Erasmus rejected the authenticity and canonicity.

- Council of Toledo (633) Canonicity proclaimed. Authorship was in question so the council said 'John' but their proclamation of that wasn't strong like the 'canonicity proclamation'. Prior to this proclamation, Revelations was widely ignored. it was at this time and with this proclamation that Revelations became mostly accepted by the people and the church.

Rev 22:18 & 19

18 I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book; 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book.

I didnt make that up, its in the book. What you think you see in me is what you really see in yourself.

n daniel, each of the Kings is referring to Kingdoms or Empires or political systems.

Classically, these Kingdoms are believed to be as follows:

The Kingdom of Bablyon (Gold)
The Kingdom of the Medes and Pesians (Silver)
the Kingdom of the Greeks (Bronze)
The Kingdom of Pagan Roman Empire (Iron)
... and then a new "Kingdom" (Iron mixed with Clay) which is believed to represent modern political systems like Ecumenical rule, Democracy, Socialism & Communism.

It is only recently that people have been led to believe in a person of anti-christ. Prior to that anti-christ was seen as a kingdom, political movement or "spirit of the age".

That interpretation skips over the Assyrian empire, which ruled the area for 300 years, as well as the Mede empire being its own empire for 50 years before becoming the Medio-Persian empire, not to mention the Persian Achaemenid Empire, which lasted for nearly 200 years. So there were 7 empires in history in this area, not four. Therefore, the statue is not referring to them.
