Tymoshenko confirmed the authenticity of the tape but claims the end of the conversation was edited.

I'm sure I've read earlier the tape states she wants to 'nuke' the Russians, but it might be a bad translation I read.

people often say stupid and irrational things when they're angry, I don't think she realistically considered using nuclear weapons.
more important in my opinion is the effect her words will have on overall situation, especially labeling government of Ukraine as extremists.
I mean, what is more extreme than directly proposing usage of nukes.?

Considering Ukraine hasn't had nukes since 1994 then I tend to agree with you. Sounds like pissed off Ukrainians, this is what happens when countries get invaded...

As another poster pointed out, it seems like the "nuke" reference is being overplayed and most likely mis-translated. I'm not saying any politician should talk that way, but they can and they do all the time. Ukraine has virtually fallen apart and most dramatically within a span of 3 weeks.Things are very heated, people are pissed off on both sides.

Ukrainians, this is what happens when countries get invaded...

So calling this an 'invasion" is disingenous. They were already there and have been for a very long time under the terms of an agreement between the Ukraine/ Russia.

All this talk of a Russian invasion is just western media spin that, as always....ignores the facts whenever it suits.

The agreement was for them to have the Black Sea base in Crimea. Crimea itself is not a base. It wasn't an agreement to allow Russia to waltz in and annex Crimea while not even putting the option to stay a part of Ukraine on the ballot.

Anyway, I'm not going to argue about what an "invasion" is, the fact is the Ukrainians view it as such no matter how many times it's spun on the internet.
