And because British Columbia is a myth, I guess.

Ah, yes...mythical far away lands:

- Oz
- Shangri La
- Atlantis
- R'yleh
- Hyboria
- The Hollow Earth
- That moon in Avatar
- British Columbia

Too bad I can't flag that post...

One other thing.
If Alaska joins the FSR...does that mean Sarah Palin is gonna start drinking Scotchka?
Doesn't she hate communists?
Isn't she like armed to the teeth?
Wouldn't that be a bad thing...for Alaskans at least?
(It would be hilarious for the rest of us but pretty tragic for Alaska!)

-Peace-

Ohhh, I can't wait to see the WH response to this gem *chuckle*

Alaska has oil. Even if they wanted to break away as it's own country, it'll never happen. Because it has oil. Any sense of it being American has zilch to do with it, this country has a death grip on it's domestic commodity sources. And we don't let them go if we can help it.

Hopefully they can break away and start a movement for other states that want the same.

But...They have oil.

America will find evidence of WMD's and Alaska will be invaded, Alaskans will be killed and the North will be a wasteland,

Because they have oil...

Peace

My son and I actually spent a month there in 2007. Two weeks camping and two on a cruise. It's a very beautiful place, and he wants to move there when he gets his degree. I'd hate to have to get a visa to visit there again. Bad enough we had to have passports to change flights in Canada.

I should be upset!

I should be disturbed!

But in light of all of the corruption in my government????

I DON'T NEED MY VIAGRA TONIGHT!!!!!

So any ladies within an hour of Pittsburgh want to take advantage of my predicament? Give me a U2U! roflmao

On the serious side of things though, this ought to show people whom believe in the corrupt political system that has destroyed the United States of America, that not only are your GOD's (politicians) days numbered, but so are yours!!!

The problem with secession is democracy, and the problem with democracy is that usually about 50% of the people, give or take, don't get exactly what they want. Kind of like what happened in Crimea. Kinda.

These days so many monkeys have access to the internet that I am pretty sure you can find a petition on that website for just about anything imaginable.

I can fly a hot air balloon over 10,000 people and 9,990 of them will think it's the greatest thing ever. Ten of them will think it the worst thing imaginable and do everything they can to mess with your day.

Luckily the sane people in in the majority. Given the nature of Alaska I can only imagine the numbers are a bit more skewed towards secession from the entire USA.... Russia? They won't get anywhere near it, Putin ain't stupid enough to say okay even if Alaska voted...

I know petitions have become the new "fad" but this particular one is still interesting to me.

I don't think it will get the amount needed for even a response, but what if did? What would Putin say about it?

I know one thing for sure, even if every single person who resides in alaska signed it the US government would never let it go.

Could be interesting to watch and see where the numbers go.

Take a look at your history.

Canada has defeated the US 4 times in the beginning of the struggles of this land. We had natives, french men and a few huskys...White House? BOOM! Sorry about the fire

Who wrote this thing? The grammar is very poor and lacking proper sentence structure. The government should toss it out just for that reason and then they should find out how much of the pipeline dollars are making it back to the schools up there.

Im pretty sure we fought a fairly major war to determine if states can Secede.

South you still there?

Yea?

Apparently state rights mean jack.

Personally I don't see how this would count in cases where the federal government has completely disavowed the constitution and bill of rights and is now demanding that states also break the law and commit felonies in the process of helping them.. Still though, I also doubt this would happen since Alaska has so much oil and other resources.. It is too valuable to be let go without another civil war...

i dunno
alaska is pretty heavy..if they sling a rope across, and then tug on the rope, alaska might not budge
the newish Russia light might just slide right on over this way

what will happen to the sale of alberta vodka in alaska then eh?
this could very bad for the prairy grain crop in saskatchewan and the distillers too

i think we should sneak in through the mountains bordering the Yukon and alaska
and vote noe

eta
and i support the right of everyone to live in an altered state

Yeah good luck with that thought. Something like 40% of the US population is on some type of anti-depressant or sleeping aid. I refer to them as MADS Mood Altering Drugs. The drive we once had as a Unified Nation seems to be mostly gone...

Not fun to watch.

One problem tho:

If Kala votes 100%, Martial Law will be the rule. Can;t let go of all that oil.

It would be easy because so many Americans Don't care about Alaska because they Don't even know where it is.

And if that happened...One state...49 more to go. Be careful what you wish for.

Peace

How about signing a petition to send Sarah Palin a one way ticket to Russia! Than she can see Alaska from her new home in Russia!

Seriously though, I think these petitions are being started to send a message to representatives in our government that the U.S. is losing its core beliefs on what this country was founded on. Our system of government is becoming corrupt and our representatives are ignoring the constitutional rights of its citizens.
