Dear ATS,

This story brought a tear to my eye for so many reasons.

I will let the pictures and story do the talking, I'm all chalked up...

Maintenance worker Mario, who has terminal cancer, asked to be taken into the giraffe enclosure at Rotterdam’s Diergaarde Blijdorp zoo.

The 54-year-old was wheeled into the enclosure on his hospital bed and within minutes the giraffes approached him and began to nuzzle and kiss him.

The Ambulance Wish Foundation, which transported Mario to the zoo, said Mario has little mobility and finds speaking very difficult. "However, his face spoke volumes", they said.

These animals recognised him, and felt that (things aren’t) going well with him,’ Kees Veldboer, the founder of the AWF told Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad.

I'll admit it....feels....

Thanks OP.

Saw a video yesterday on another site. It's 8 am here...still gets me.

It just goes to graphically show what I've always known having grown up on a farm; Animals may not speak human language, but they sure understand a lot more than we give them credit for.

Thanks for sharing, it just brightened my day

I completely agree with you. I have grown up on a dairy farm and can honestly say, the cattle are not just cattle, they have emotions and in many cases those emotions are shared with us on the farm

For example, Rosie who is better known as collar 48 has taken it upon her self to help me ease my Psoriasis. Every day she will make he way to me and start licking. If I don't let her then she starts nudging me. One time I even seen her sulk with me because I would not let her lick my skin. She is awesome

Ive had a bit of a rant session today, thank you for posting this.

I feel much nicer having seen the pics and read the source.
I wish i wasnt human some times, animals have it so much easier and they care just as much.

There is love in the world, some times it cant tell anyone.

an easy S+F

Wouldn't it be great if the Giraffe was to kiss him and take all his Cancer away, it would be a true Nature Marvel. Perhaps one day we will see the cure come from Nature. Well, it is there, we just are not allowed to use it

You have a good energy in your posts, if i knew you in my town i would buy you a beer.

I wouldnt expect one in return, because im not a very nice person, people like you make other people feel good and thats a quality thats hard to emulate.

peace.
