Seems crypotgraphers from Bletchley Park near Milton Keynes think they have cracked the code that is inscribed on "the shepheard monument".

Have a read just click on the link above.

Thats an interesting story. It claims that they believe it was written by a sect called "Priory of the Sun."

Did an ATS search and couldn't find anything and google only turned up one hit. Must be a fairly obscure sect but apparently Leonardo Da Vinci was a member. Not surprised he is tied into this though.

Although he was not technically a Freemason Leonardo was, perhaps not surprisingly, a member of the Prierre de Sion., the Priory of the Sun.

I'll do some more research on it. It would make a good topic for secret societies maybe.

Sion is not french for Sun. Soleil is french for Sun.

The Priory of Sion is what it says. The Priory of Sion

The name Priory of the Sun though does raise an interesting question though.

What if instead of Priory of the Sun...it really is Priory of the Son....maybe they spelled it that way to throw off persecutors...just an idea

In the artical, it says that experts think this code if from the above mentioned sect. I didnt see where they actually cracked the code though. Oh well. It is intresting though that the code breakers working on this is a couple in thier 80's that were code breakers in WWII. The article even credits thier code breaking efforts for shortening WWII by 2 years. Thats a hefty accomplishment.

well if it is actually written by poussin then there is a high probability theat when its cracked it will be related to masonic involvement. But just because of the masonic connection it doesn't mean that it has anything to do with the grail.

Nothing was writtem by Poussin here, just that a painting of his (Les Bergers d'Arcadie/ the shepheards of arcadia) is on the monument, and his personal involvement with the Priory of Sion kind of makes it suspect.

By the way the motto "et in arcadia ego" (whats in the painting) is etched into a wall near the dutch (holland, netherlands) parliament building.

I wonder who calls the shots there then

As you may have read in The Da Vinci Code, there were ties to Prierre de Sion. However, the Prierre de Sion was created in the 1950's were French law stated that any organization had to be registered with a stated purpose. In short, the purpose of the Prierre de Sion was to preserve the Moravian bloodline, which says that Jesus had a wife (Mary of Magdeline) and one, possibly two children. It is said that Mary fled the genocides on a boat with no oars with her brother and a small child (Sainte Sara) and perhaps another child in her womb.

A man created the Prierre de Sion, along with many documents, including a family tree linking him as a blood descendant of Jesus and Mary. He only wanted the fame. If you look up Prierre de Sion and it has names listed from as far back as the 11th century. Including Leonard de Vinci, Sir Isaac Newton, and as many other names that this man could think of. There are many historic names listed as the document says there were over 8,000 members. The Prierre de Sion could have been around back that far, but if so, why such the big secret.

There actually was an earlier ATS thread on this, and notice that the partial 'crackign' is from 2004. Apparently, non one has gotten through the rest of it yet.
