Granny goes to war!

Well it seems the U.S Army will take just about anybody they can get,

LAWTON, Okla. - A 72-year-old great-grandmother is preparing for deployment to the war zone in Iraq and will become one of the oldest Department of Defense civilian workers in the war zone.

"I volunteered," said Lena Haddix of Lawton, who has five children, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. "I wanted to do something for the country, because I was always left behind taking care of the children."

Well the old girl must be fit, but I am assuming she had to pass a physical. I still can't believe they accepted her application though!

My 'Granny' is still alive and doing quite well at 86... Most of us are still afraid of her... She is tough as nails.. and can kick a$$ with the best of them.. Good thing she will not see this thread.. She may sign up!
