Jesse Ventura: We Can Send $1 Billion to Ukraine, But We Can’t Pay for Veterans’ Benefits?

You seem to be under the impression that "foreign aid" is just money being gifted to other nations for free. Usually though the so called 'aid' are loans to other nations, given to them to indebt them to yourself and your banking system, and also to line the pockets of the ruling elite in said countries. Since more often than not these nation's taxpayers won't be able to pay it back ever, the country will have to do your bidding in the future.

Often the use of them is also restricted, usually to buy goods or services from the country that gives them, like commissioning an US corporation to build something or extract natural resources. As another example, one of the "rescue packets" given to Greece by the EU obliges Greece to buy a bunch of tanks (and a submarine, if I'm not mistaken) from Germany... because, you know, tanks and other weapon-systems are what Greece really needs to spend money on right now, being almost bankrupt and all.

Yeah we can send 1 billion dollars to Ukraine.

Yeah we can spend over 2.2 trillion dollars on the welfare industrial complex.

But we sure the EFF can't spend money on veterans benefits.

Oh and Ventura is one of the biggest advocates for defense cuts.

THAT EFFECTS VETERANS, and their benefits THE MOST.

The people of the US are very aware of this, and see it for the scam that it really is.

Taxpayers get shafted and the ICBs make out like the bandits they are, proving that crime does pay.

Why would defense cuts affect benefits the most ?

Are you trying to infer that benefits are a scheme hidden inside the budget that is raped by every corporation imaginable ?

I've come to the conclusion that Obama, along with everyone else in a position of substantial power, simply want friends and under-the-table deals overseas--or, to dominate them and take them for whatever they've got. It's all about who ya know.

They couldn't care less about the rest of us.

Everyone in the money club Bilderberg, they don't have to care.

They're set for life, no matter what happens to us.

Exactly the kind of people our ancestors didn't want in power.

We can spend big bucks for military hardware via crony contracts for the top dogs in those companies but it always comes down to nothing for the little people that do not have the political and monetary power to buy politicians like they do.

Although I believe that the honor of joining the American military is close to zero, I believe that the military industry should honor their part of the deal by giving them benefits.

Hell, those soldiers are destroyed psychologically and then sent out on the field to protect monetary interest of people that hardly lift a finger, all the while they are putting their own lives in danger. Sorry, but they deserve compensation for having their lives toyed with.

I agree with this as well.
We have heard the saying that the top elite deserve the lion's share of the wealth because of the risks (laugh]bailouts and cronyism [\laugh] they take with their money.

Since we have people putting their lives in the line for monetary and financial interests, the soldiers should be paid equal to or greater than what these top elite are paid a year.

Or, we could get back to actually defending our country and its borders rather than defending the global corporate and banking interests abroad.

Its funny but these people we elect seem to always have us on the bottom of the list.

We see the same crap here in the UK, vast sums of money donated for whatever political reasons to countries who won't be able to repay (not that we expected them to) and even more annoying is that the money never gets to the people it was intended for, instead syphoned off by corrupt officials.

We the British people like you the American people are disgusted that this money is not used to care for the people in OUR countries, we have housing shortages, people living rough, hospitals being closed, school shortages etc etc etc..

Its not like the money isn't needed here in our countries but yet it never comes.....Disgusting corrupt politicians, always looking to stick the arm up the back of another country because they have something they want.

I think the issues is that when many voters put them in office, (if you can believe elections are real), they let them run wild like spoiled children with full use of the parents assets.

I would say "never keeps them", those promises.

Our spending priorities in this country are way screwed up, corrupted by what Ike warned about in 1961.

Simple:

New wars, new coups, new rulers, new CIA/NSA operations help to get US companies more new lucrative contracts, more World Bank /IMF slavery nations (that end up buying "construction projects" from American companies), and more strategic interests and more arms sales.

What does giving money away to veterans help?

It gives a tiny boost to spending of groceries at Walmart, much of which is imported anyway.

A lot less impact on government lobbying interests, economy and new jobs.

So, the politicians do what their masters (military-security-complex + industry lobbies + NPAC + the rest of the lobbyists) tell them.

How big is the veteran's lobby? How much money do they have for campaign contributions?

Exactly.

Don't make it an ethical question or cry out foul, when it is purely and only a business transaction for the politicians and other parties involved.

I'm not saying it _should_ be so nor that I condone this type of activity -- merely just explaining the decision system and balance of power as it is.

How can you change this?

Change the whole political system (not just the politicians, it is not enough), change all the lobbying laws and its enforcement (probably requires changing the whole corrupt US judicial system) and change the way the corporations are run.

Pretty tall order, but then again, what other choice do you have? Bend over some more?

Since the Ukraine is so busy sending email selling Viagra, Rx products, 'we found funds that are yours', and other assorted products I think they are making plenty of money.

We will reconsider when the spam stops.
