Hey guys.. I was considering moving my survival library to my nexus 7 pad (got a solar panel charger).
Then I realized that it's 8 gigs 6000+ files, with lots of pics in folders, txt files and html files.

And since I don't have the time I thought I'd ask if anyone knows of a good torrent with all the most essential .pdf books. Hopefully not more than 100 books covering:
Trapping, shelter, food gathering/trapping, preps, water pocurement, military evasion and tactics, combat, tech, farming, weapons old and new, health/herbs/meds etc. etc.

Hopefully somebody already put some time into building the perfect "pad" or flashdrive compilation. Or know of a good one online with not to much duplicate info.

All feedback appreciated.

I'm a fan of paper actually. But maybe you should think about a Faraday cage in a attempt to protect the data. Going both routes can't go wrong.

Of course, if a EMP were to go off while uploading data...you're screwed. But that's the gamble you take.

Move your survival torrent into your head.
Nobody should be reading books in any survival situation....knowledge is less weight and you don't need batteries or chargers.
If you become "that guy" reading stuff in the woods to try to survive....you're already done....get out there and practice and do it for real.
A solar panel is great...knowledge is better.

there is no way to remember everything...
and how do you teach?
besides if you have nothing to read in the out house...

i spent several months off grid last year...boredom is a killer
solar moonlights are great fro reading under at night...

having things to read that add to the basics you can do without looking it up in a book are key

Unless you can not read, JJ! You could get the Ex set called Firefox. If I remember right anyways, a 8/10 set of books with all the info one could to be a Super Cave Man!

Everything is covered, down to making soap and what Not to Wipe U A with lol. Down side is though, unless one could know for sure what would happen in any worst case ideas floating around, one could plan for years and never be covered!

Since anything could happen and their is the small chance something coming we could not even think of. Then again if Christ did happen to show up lol then what is left is the Dog House so might as well plan on knowing just the basics.

Everything else might become usless!

Peace

I have the FireFox series. Great reads!

They're scattered all about the house and I read them all the time, whether on the crapper (TMI?) or bedding down for the night. Great knowledge to have.

I've been thinking of putting a rotary library unit in the bathroom. I can reach to about six feet high when sitting on the can. I suppose one slot can be dedicated to toilet paper.

Old school paper library of your most important data is the best way to have any chance of preservation during a holocaust. Electronic devices are only useful during peaceful times. At least that's what I believe.

I need to get my hands on a set someday, friend followed his own path and now reading various stuff I can find. Had Poor Mans guiled to James Bond, seems to be a red flag book from long ago and if you have it now you could be called a T.

So many people now days are doing the prepping on what they think could happen, although forgetting one small factor. Your mind and the state it's in should be the frist thing to consider.

Knowing what to do might help lol although if your head is not right you will have many problems!

Peace

It's hard to remember everything. I'm not a doctor, engineer, thief, green baret, hunter, farmer, herb specialist and so on. I can survive in the woods, I know alot about fishing and a bit about hunting. I've made fire with a firebow etc.. But yeah, you get the point.

I agree, but who wants to have 100 books in their backpack?

Gonna start with 100 best and narrow down best chapters to print.

Nice, only number 3,5 and 6 I didn't have.
Including the fox series we noe have 20 on the list. 80 left..
I'm thinking a book purely on how to grow, harvest and preserve seeds and such from fruits and veggies.
Even growing potatos is an art, although some people just plant the whole potato while it's still not perfectly "ripe" for planting.
Like for example how to make appletrees actually bear fruit

Here's a good torrent I have a nexus 7 and use Moon reader app reads all formats but I prefer epub.

Bushcraft covers all areas of survival and camping activities: making ropes and cords, building huts, camp craft, finding food and water, making maps, starting fires, tying knots, and fashioning hunting and trapping gear—virtually every technique required to stay alive in the woods. With over 400 black-and-white illustrations and photographs, this book explains how to make use of natural materials found locally in any area, conserving instead of destroying native flora and fauna. It describes many of the skills used by primitive man, adding to these the skills necessary for modern man’s survival, such as methods for determining time and direction.

Enjoy!
Hope it helps!

Haha, wouldn't want the misses to make fireworks out of my pad, now would I

If there's a huge solar flare or nuke strike I don't wanna live anyways, so I'm gonna pass on the faraday cage.

You really can't go wrong with the FireFox series. That stuff is serious old school and proven to work.

But if your looking for tech advice on survival on the cheap...you're barking up the wrong tree. If the infrastructure goes down...it's gonna be old school all the way. No ands, if, or buts.
