She's back in the news. Months ago this woman, who used to be the House Stenographer, was escorted out of the House after she let go with a tongue lashing while on the job. Her rant included God, the Constitution, and Freemasons. She still says it came directly from God. And she still says she didn't have a breakdown, but she admits that she has no memory of the bulk of the incident. (A blackout - which for me smacks of mental health issues).

Former House Stenographer Whose Bizarre Rant Included God, the Constitution and Freemasons Says She ‘Did Not Have a Breakdown’

Former House stenographer Dianne Reidy, the woman who was removed from the House chamber last October when she went on a rant about God and the Constitution, released a video statement Saturday denying she suffered a breakdown and claiming that God guided her actions.

Reidy, who appears alongside her husband Dan in the video, said her public comments are meant to “set the record straight” about what unfolded late last year.

“I remember getting up to the podium and after saying, ‘God will not be mocked.’ I don’t have a memory of anything else that was said that evening until I was escorted off the floor,” Reidy said during the 38-minute video statement.

38 minute video that Dianne Reidy and her husband recently made.

I have no idea why they decided to do this video. It's been five months.

Some people are plain crazy. Some people are genius.

Frankly, sometimes it's hard to tell these two apart.

I don't know what to make of her. She had a strong opinion and had guts expressing it, but I'm not sure if it was in the best interests of everybody or if she was even sane.

Good find. And if she has no memory of it beyond the first few words, then why did it take 38 minutes to say it? I remember Bill Maher saying that God would be mocked, and then proceeded to do it, and likely has full memory of it!

That's just it, she didn't claim that it was her opinion .. she claimed that God took over her body and made her rant. She says she knew He was going to do it and when it happened she had no memory of the event. 'God' didn't act that way in the New Testament .... and the blackout makes me think of mental health issues ... no matter how true/untrue what she said in the House was.

So many people miss-interpret the charismatic gift thing, it was a pet peeve growing up as the Pentecostal church I was raised in was filled with the crap.

I agree, this women is just plain nuts, no God involved at all.

Attention seekers often find religion as a good show case for their brand of crazy.

Hmm, you would think "god" would find a better venue for his words than a nutty stenographer... but heck, I've heard he works in mysterious ways... maybe he works in ironic-funny ways, too?

Anyone who believes in a giant invisible guy in the sky belongs in a rubber room.

Same goes for those who think said invisible sky speaks through them.

Very symptomatic of schizophrenia.

A stenographer is like a scribe, I guess. Rock solid old testament stuff. May the farce be with you.

I think people have to have more empathy for those with mental health issues.
They don't all get locked in padded rooms. And generally it's not considered nice to call the mutters.

just my opinion - but making such claims as " god did it " to explain such incidents is to portray your aledged god as an impotent idiot

Good point. In all the books I've read about the saints, when they've had messages from God they haven't had blackouts. In fact, after the messages, they were calm and serene and feeling wonderful. Same with those Christians not in the Catholic church. They remember everything.

I've seen a video on ATS of Buddhist 'messages' come through people from their 'gods'. (or whatever they are called). Those people receiving them had blackouts and their bodies were totally exhausted. I had the impression of the negative in these.

This woman claims it's GOD ... but I've never heard of God possessing a person and causing a person to black out like that. In fact, just the opposite. My one experience with 'The Holy Spirit' and the experiences of others who I've spoken with all say the same ... you remember everything and you feel alive and wonderful while it is happening. No blackouts.

Blackouts .. that's the realm of demons and mental health issues.

In the first 11 secs of the video…they plainly tell you why they made the video.

And perhaps 5 months may seem like a lifetime to some.

But I'd like to think most do not think so.

Hugs.

Ummm…the entire bible is "supposed" to be God speaking through scribes.

But ya…Demons are also "supposed" to possess people.

Either way…lets all just mock this lady and hurt her feelings to feel superior. Its more fun. Ya?

I know what they say ... but I don't know why the REALLY did it.
It's been five months and out of the news. She should let it die.

Yeah ... sure. /sarcasm
Even those who claimed to have God speaking through them in the bible .. they didn't 'black out'.

Either way…lets all just mock this lady and hurt her feelings to feel superior. Its more fun. Ya?

You do get that SHE is the one putting herself in the public and out for discussion, right?
She is the one that, five months after the incident, brought it up again.
If she didn't want people talking about it ... then she should have just faded away.

It's a discussion forum. We are going to discuss it.
