Anyone here speaks German?

If so, then I have a request to ask of you. This might have been posted before, but I'd like confirmation. Many blogs have reported that left-wing politican Gregor Gysi has spoken out against the new Ukrainian government for their ties with fascists groups. However, all those blog posts link to the very same Russia Today article on the subject. It seems to be the only source, as far as I can tell, with no other news site corroborating. As you can understand, this makes my spidey senses tingle. Here's the article in question :

The one thing which stops me from calling BS is that many of Gregor Gysi's speaches can be found on youtube. Including perhaps the one where he made this infamous declaration. So I'm asking the German-speakers here to confirm wether or not Gregor Gysi has really spoken out in this manner. Let's make it clear once and for all. Can you help me out?

Ill give it a shot...If I remember I thought there was a video on this...where her face looked so awful as he was speaking....in fact there may be a thread on this already or it may have been just something I came across...

You didn't know you can go online(free), cut and paste anything into any number of translators and read it in a hundred different languages?

I'm German, and I can confirm this.

Gregor Gysi basically says that many of the new Ukrainian Government are Nazis (members of Svoboda) and blames Chancellor Merkel for supporting them.
He also states that neither NATO, nor Russia had any right meddling in the internal affairs of a sovereign nation, and that the west violated international law so often in recent years, that it's now implausible to point fingers at Russia when they do the same.

I don't have much time on my hands right now, but feel free to pm me anything you want to know.

Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, which was associated with "left-wing", everyone in that region all the way from Poland to the Russian Pacific is "right-wing". Its a natural Pendulum movement that will, some day, balance out in a more moderate and relaxed middle. The Russians are just as hardline right-wing as the Ukrainians. This whole issue is not a matter of political stance but of about 20% of Ukrainians being Russians. So this politician that accuses Ukrainians of being "fascists" is just babbling nonsense from a far-left perspective. For the far-left anyone else is considered a "fascist". Granted, there are really right-wing extremist groups in the Ukraine who are threatening the Russian 20% minority, but such groups are not the majority.

Well, I hadn't found the transcript when I asked this question. The only written source was the RT article, the only video sources were in German, and I'm not aware of any online vocal translator. For some reason, English-language western news totally omitted this episode.

What you're saying about the political climate in context of the "post-Soviet" era is definitely true, and I also agree that this crisis is not a matter of political stance (left-wing/right-wing), but consider this:
International law and national sovereignty are not "left-wing-exclusive" values! Did you read what Gysi was saying about those? He hit the nail right on the ugly head, which is why Gysis speech currently gets unusal approval across both wings here.
It's unfortunate that the left-wing (at least here in Germany) has the only guy who is telling the truth right now, but it is still the truth.
As I said in another thread: I doubt that the majority of Ukrainians are Nazis... but fact remains that many of the new Ukrainian Government are. Svoboda are national socialists with ties to other far-right Nazi-parties throughout Europe.

Yes, I fully agree that not all fault is with the Russians. Much fault is with the NATO and with the Ukrainians themselves. It sounds harsh, but Ukrainians will have to experience the consequences of what they have voted and supported. They have been rather extreme in their views (compared to the West) for some time now, long before the crisis started. My hope is that, rather than turning into a fest of mayhem and perhaps even genocide, there will be negotiations from all sides.

My business partner is from Hamburg Germany, so Ive some experience using a couple. Ill follow up with links for you soon.

You do have to cut and paste the script say on a blank document, and then go tp the translators and paste them in...it not like opening them up as you read the current articles you are wanting to translate.

Not sure what this has to do with the topic (?), but I guess this thread already served it's purpose.

I can't tell you the "feeling", but this is my take on the strategy:
Truth is, not only our gold is gone.
It makes no sense to kill confidence in the US at this point, which is the only thing backing the USD.
It is wiser to play along, trade USD (their confidence, not ours) for other valuta.
Get as much as still possible ("however slow they can bleed"), before their house of cards collapses.
Diversify, consolidate and prepare.
