Just remember

Putin isn't going to come out of this looking all Hip, Slick and Cool. Russia wants respect? As with the US it has to be earned. What Russia is doing may be popular within a vocal minority but popularity doesn't make it right. Yes, the world IS watching. This isn't so much about making the US look bad, that's easy, We Americans are great at doing that ourselves. He didn't do this for that reason alone although many here will attempt to portray it so.

What we DO have here is Russia blatantly bullying their neighbor.

I never implied that Putin will come out of this looking "Hip, Slick and Cool". Putin is doing nothing that the US hasn't done, which was my whole point.
And I never said that Russia wants respect, I said that if the US wants to tell Russia what they should and shouldn't do, then surely going by recent track records, there is no nation earth like the US that should NOT be sticking its nose into anyone else's business. And the question still remains, what business is it of the US if Russia decides to move into a neighbouring country over a LONG dispute, which in the long term view is just another transition and shift of power, yet displays that very behaviour when it suits THEIR interests. Russia is no less guilty of this when the shoe is on the other foot.
What has Putin done that was any worse than what the US did in Vietnam, Somalia, Egypt, Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan ? Does BULLYING not exist when it suits you ?
Please remember that I did not say Russia has not done anything wrong, I asked what have they done that is worse to justify the US speaking out against it CONSIDERING THEIR TRACK RECORD !

WHAT HAS THE US GOVERNMENT DONE TO EARN THE RIGHT, OR RESPECT, TO QUESTION ANOTHER NATIONS MOTIVES, ACTIONS OR AGENDA's, CONSIDERING THE US GOVERNMENTS TRACK RECORD ? Just as Russia has no right or respect to question any other nations motives, actions or agenda. And just as I remember the US going into Iraq and Afghanistan despite Russia advising against it. If you think the US may of won Iraq and Afghanistan, then how do you explain MORE SOLDIERS DYING THAN VICTIMS ON 9/11 ?
But why didn't they listen to Russia at the time, considering how poorly Iraq and Afghanistan worked out, and considering Russia's recent history and experiences in Afghanistan. Why is it the crime of the century when Russia invades Ukraine, a NEIGHBOURING nation, yet when the US spreads its invasions across the GLOBE, it is "peace building" and "installing Democracy".

Remove the oil and gas running through Ukraine, and you do NOT hear a THING from the US Government, AND WE BOTH KNOW IT.

Yea, it's Clancy's last book. He and Mark Greany have worked on a few together. But the way the book plays out, it is spot on, with the exception of the US response. It even pretty much plays the EU response pretty good. (which means they aren't really doing much at the moment)

I wonder if Greany will continue the Ryan/Rainbow universe?

By the way, I have to clear up a bit, this thread IS NOT about Ukraine situation. Although there are USSR and Russia in the title, it doesnt relate to them that much.
This thread is about what Americans and America government are doing to USA and how low the demoralized Americans have become. Just look at how many participants here are patriotic Americans. Barely ..
There is no more United in United States of America and Americans are okay with that. You can get angry reading that, but that is how demoralized and how low Americans have become. I think the vets understood this but, its too late . With staged 911, Patriot Act, politicians having more intentions than benefits of the people, and now with lots of executive orders, the abyss have gone wider, USA have more protection and security for Israel than its own.
I think in less than a decade, we will see "We the people" vs "The United States of America".

There are forces that leads to it. Its not just KGB, there are others, more wicked and much much more successful than KGB. KGB just brought up nuisance and divide into factions, that other one is different, its more "taking over for advantage" in intent.With this thread, I'm paying a favor for Americans in general informing about the situation.
