Why must the United States (who isn't an angel!) get involved in these spats? Nations have been taking over nations for thousands of years. America isn't so prosperous that every citizen is living fat and happy in utopian bliss. Let's take care of Americans first..there's a TON of work to do right here!

in.reuters.com...

The article mentions the European Union's investigations into espionage and spy tactics used illegally by the U.S. and U.K. to spy on citizens in the mainland EU countries, and how if any further surveillance is to be enacted upon EU citizens by the U.S. or U.K. it is to be sought by an EU-based head of state or other government employee. It also explains how the largest trade deal in history between the United States and European Union countries, to be signed by both in order to take effect, may also be in jeopardy due to this fact, and that if the U.S. goes forward with sanctions on Russia, they won't sign it, and thus the document will be null and void. The EU will not side with the U.S. after this Snowden-related expose, never. Seeing as how this current administration has upheld and maintained Bush-era policies on the foreign and domestic scale, I think it's safe to say, if they still adhere to the Bush regime's, "you're either with us or against us", state of mind, which they most likely do, they are most CERTAINLY not WITH us on the Russian Sanctions operation.

That is both embarrassing and somewhat awkward.
What a joke Kerry is..

Just out of curiosity how different would have the Republicans handled this? probably a lot more worse if you haven't seen what Sara Palin had stated about threatening Putin with Nukes?

I am sure he must be shacking in his boots lol.

Indeed. Guys with uniform fetish in a nation command usually went mad after some time.
Anyway I think Crimea is the last thing Russians needed. Mr. P. is old school and doesn´t use a calculator. There is a lot of clever psychopaths on the other side and a huge economic push of desperate nations. Was Russians´ emancipation worth it in the end of the day? Was he manipulated? Not many will say thanks to Mr. P. after he´s gone. Only Cossacks will.
I believe the situation can still be handled to some progress and a greater good by clever people but Russians and Crimean won´t prosper from it. Europe is a cradle of civilisation. No one should underestimate peoples´ hunger for a better life.

You know, it's quite funny how certain superpowers try to police the level of nuclear weapons that any given nation produces...

... yet these superpowers, who happen to possess the 2 largest nuclear arsenals in the world, are currently in a standoff with eachother.

OR WHAT John!? Is this man proposing war with Russia? To what end and at what cost? Insanity like this should not be in a position of power.

lol

kinda explains it !

LolDoesn't explain it In The slightest

We can only hope people don't go basing there opinions on jokes taken out of context test for foolery and propaganda purposes

1) Libya was a uprising & civil war, Ukraine isn't anything of the sort

2)The US never invaded Libya with boots on the ground to support an ethnic minority gain independence

3) Libya was a NATO no fly zone called for by the Arab league, the people of Libya, and enforced by the French and the British

So kind explains it just fell flat on its face

1) Libya was a uprising & civil war, Ukraine isn't anything of the sort
You FAIL Pro Russian Ukraine and Traditional

2)The US never invaded Libya with boots on the ground to support an ethnic minority gain independence

Boots on the Ground >?

Obama Notifies Congress of Troops Deployed to Libya and Yemen
abcnews.go.com...

US deploys 12,000 troops in Libya
libyanfreepress.wordpress.com...

I'd vote for her, especially over Hilary. She's just simple is all. Much better to have simple than corrupt or puppet in office.

As long as it has padded walls, she can call it whatever she wants.

Putin isn't going to back down. So, if Kerry is serious, this means sanctions against Russia will start soon. (maybe) The question is, which ones? Does Europe want to risk having their gas supply cut off in retaliation? If this continues, especially if Putin decides to advance in to eastern Ukraine then bad things are coming and the talking will stop. I actually see this as one of the most threatening times in my lifetime.

So, we didn't (Bush) do anything when Russia went after Georgia, why are we getting involved now? They didn't call Bush out over this (well, maybe a little, but not much). Why now? Rep's just using thus as an opportunity to bash Obama?

Again, what do we care?

Until they threaten England, we should stay out.

IMO

What are you folks inferring?
That America is afraid of war?
Of course they are against opponents who aren’t like Panama, or Grenada, or even Iraq but someone who could fight back like Russia or China, indeed, the big bully America will think twice before marching.

Mr. John Kerry ...

Isn't that a US senator, who is a president wannabe?

Sound like a "Saddam Hussein"-sound-a-like ... lot of big words, from a big nobody.

And what is Mr. Kerry gonna do ... if Putin doesn't back ... is he going to a start Nuclear war and murder hundreds of millions of people, over a dead land, that belongs to russia anyway?

Somebody take that man, and put him in the loony bin ... he can sit there, with his pal Kim.

The notion of red and blue countries is now obsolete, there are now multiple overlapping spheres of influence, with the United States and United Kingdom at the center of one, the European Union (Germany, France, Spain, etc) at the center of another, there's Russia's sphere of influence, and then there's China's. The EU/U.S./U.K. alliance is obsolete. The European Union have turned their backs on the U.S. in favor of furthering ties with the Russian sphere of influence. The next most foremost frontrunner of the German election 2005 to challenge Incumbent Chancellor Merkel, Leader of the Left Gregor Gysi (‘They are fascists!’ German Left leader blasts Merkel’s support of illegitimate Ukraine govt) already has spoken out against the incumbent German and U.S. government's support of fascist elements in the Ukraine. I predict total collapse of NATO in the next decade, and when the time comes it won't be the US/UK/EU/Israel vs Russia/China/North Korea/Iran... it's going to be MUCH more complex than that.
