I hadn't heard of the show until early this morning. *Doesn't watch regular TV* I've just watched the first episode and have the second on pause at the moment and I thought some here would appreciate the topic. It's a bit quirky sometimes but in my opinion does show some interesting aspects of survival. So, for those of you who are not already familiar with the show and might be interested....

Enjoy

Jake Zweig, a former Navy Seal, is dropped on top of a remote, snow-covered mountain in Iceland. He has 100 hours to make it to civilization or he's screwed. | For more, visit

About Dude, You're Screwed

In DUDE, YOU’RE SCREWED, five of the world’s most elite, thrill-seeking survivalists will find out! The seven-part series is the newest twist in the survival genre, premiering on Discovery Channel Sunday, December 8th at 10:00pm ET/PT, and on Animal Planet in early 2014.

Unprepared and left to fend for yourself, what would you do if you were captured, blindfolded and taken to an unknown, remote location? Viewers are about to find out as these five survivalists must prove they have what it takes week after week as they play this “game” that puts all of their skills to the ultimate test.

Each survivalist has a different background:

Terry Schappert, a Green Beret, A -Team leader, medic, sniper and close combat specialist

John Hudson, an Extreme Survival Instructor for the UK Royal Air Force

Matt Graham, a primitive skills expert and a desert survival instructor

Jake Zweig, a former Navy SEAL, certified in Surface Warfare & as a dive safety officer and helicast master

Tom Moore, a veteran Army Scout, bush craft master and wilderness guide

Normally i would only watch Les Stroud and his show, for obvious reasons. Also Ive played paintball with him and hes a great guy as well. Not to mention he lives/lived in this General area. XD

But i found this one somewhat entertaining and also informative, they each come from different backgrounds and have different strategies and a way of doing things. There is certainly alot to learn, almost to much to take in without physically doing it (for me anyway).

I like the aspect that they will be sent anytime and they wont know when so they try to be prepared and sneaky until then. (If in-fact its not scripted)

But yeah i do recommend watching this atleast once, its a great show

Edit: Lmao, i loved how in the first episode (first video in the op) the guy takes the big bear with him everywhere he goes until it gets soaked. Was pretty funny

Jeez, I watched your first clip and can't imagine how he's going to survive without a coat, unless he bonks the cameraman over the head, takes his stuff, and uses his body as a sled to get down from there. If it were me I'd still be at the top frozen in place when the helicopter came back "days later".

So it's a show about people doing what they were trained to do. If they don't make it to the place they are supposed to get to how are they screwed do they go out and shoot them?

Just finished watching by second episode.
Nobody has been shot yet, I'll let you know if they do.

Word of advise: Try not to be too disappointed if nobody gets shot.

I caught one of these. The one where they were all getting a little "revenge" on the SEAL and had dumped him in Iceland with the giant stuffed Teddy Bear as one of his items. I came in in the middle of the show and just had to see what the heck this big guy was doing out in the middle of nowhere with a giant stuffed bear, and why all these other guys were off in a tent watching him on a computer monitor and laughing about it.

Ever since, we'll watch an episode if we can catch it. The sense of humor is straight up our alley, and you can pick up some useful tips. It's also very important to see how these guys who are trained to do this kind of thing and are physically fit get negatively affected by the environments and conditions they are in. For some reason, I pick it up more in this one than I have from episodes of Survivorman or any of the other similar shows.

I tried getting into this show, but couldn't. Every time I see that douche Jake Zweig, all I can think about is how he single-handedly ruined Top Shot. I could care less whether he survives or not.

Honestly the better part of the show is the first 10 minutes when they're ambushing their buddy, some of those traps are pretty ingenious... also got some great ideas on hiding gear, should the need ever arise, hehe... I'm not so sure about stuffing gear into my nasal cavity though. I like the Brit, his approach from the the psychology of survival resonates with me.

ETA: read that it got picked up for a second season

It's an ok show, just to laugh a bit and see other parts of the world.

But there is nothing real about this reality show - like most of them. This one is totally planned out every second, totally fake which brings a little disappointment.

Jake was actually the nicest guy on the cast and the easiest to work with. Terry schappert on the other hand was a real douche.

Filming a TV show blows at the best of times. This show would have been better without schappert on the cast. However the free travel and $$ were great.
