I`m out

And by the time you read this post, you're back in. Welcome back.

Hey...did you hear? Good ol Kim has a 100% approval rating. What a dear leader he must be.

All the mass-starvation, executions, concentration camps, forced abortions, media-control and manufactured poverty must be bygones!

Firing Squad is no more horrific than the Electric Chair...
& his Uncle was a proven traitor involved in a treasonous plot... any country would have done the same!!!

So was he executed by firing squad?
I ask because you seem to then deny it happened with the following...

If you're talking about the "celebrity execution" being trumped up, that was only broadcast by South Korea and regurgitated onto the West... There is no proof, nor conformation that this execution actually occurred!

Ever tried recording sports without permission (if you are American)? That's also against the law!!!
How about encrypting your SkyBox, Cable etc to anything outside of the chosen Western stations... No because it's also illegal!!!

As so it should be. I think those who work for a living doing the creating should be paid *Although I think many of them are way over paid but that's a topic for another thread. Having said that I get to CHOOSE what to watch nor would I end up in some 'Reeducation' camp if I didn't.

Sorry but your arguments are riddled with half thoughts and non-points.

Well these are definitely more valid points than the OP was failing at making.

You need to watch some hidden camera footage that has gotten out of NK. Like the shops that are all cardboard cut outs, purely for propaganda. The people trading DVD's they smuggled in for food. The roads that look like highways, but have turned to dirt and only have horse and carts travelling on them. The fact that one of the biggest tragedies that happened in the past 60 years was done by this tyrannical, almost feudal like leadership that BANNED people from growing food.

Yeah, we got our issues with our government, but Kim Jong Un is just the complete and total icon of everything we fear our government wants to become.

Also aren't you a bit embarrassed panhandling for probably the worlds leading monster?

This has nothing to do with Mr.Blair!!!

Or by gut-wrenching defectors stories and the hidden-cam footage and the insane demeanor at Kimmys public appearances.

They were separate executions...
The "celebrity execution" is what I denied... The alleged deaths of pop stars and a few others!!!

The Uncle was killed I am not denying that at all...

But North Korea admitted that...
If Kim is as tyrannical as portrayed I see no reason why he would hide such a claim (celebrity execution), rather NK denied killing his family & some popstars.
Only the South made this claim, and it wasn't backed up by a single piece of proof!

As for the second paragraph... they are paid... when separate sports channels battle it out for rights to air!
But that is for another thread I agree!!!

I accept & respect that you feel my post was a riddle...
Personally I thought I was quite clear in my comparisons but never mind!

Peace!

Un is his first name... I just wanted to point that out lol

You don't have to listen to what western leaders say, I actually used to be on your side of the fence purely because they were not part of the IMF and I thought it was all politcial BS.

However, when you see the floods of testimonies of people that have managed to escape and now have asylum in other countires, their stories and all the hidden camera footage of life in the North... It boils your blood...

I know you could say that these are not real, but when they're in the middle of a bust crowded city, with Kim Jung Il's face everywhere, obvious depression, heavy military presence everywhere and propaganda on every corner.

You say you hate the western powers for their propaganda, so do we all! What you're missing is just how much worse it is in NK... All the things you hate the west for.. NK do those things 10 fold.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll be sure to check out the hidden footage!!!

That does sound awful!

I hope people can see I'm not defending Mr.Kim(?) in a biased sense...
I just find it hard to believe our propaganda is any more realistic than NK's propaganda really!

Thanks again!

I will edit accordingly thanks!

I wouldn't deny the defectors at all...
It's one thing to be skeptical, I'm not going to put disbelief towards everybody who speaks out though or I would be promoting something I detest!!!

Appreciate the knowledge, thanks!

Just for giggles, I'll respond...

CharlieSpeirs
Firing Squad is no more horrific than the Electric Chair...

His Uncle was lucky - others have been mortared to death or worse. And no, he was apparently involved in a plot, but he can't exactly be said to have had a fair trial and was executed within days of being found guilty with no right to appeal, so no, no other country on the planet would have done that.

It might also be a surprise to you, but not many countries execute people at all, even for murder, much less Treason.

CharlieSpeirs
If you're talking about the "celebrity execution" being trumped up, that was only broadcast by South Korea and regurgitated onto the West... There is no proof, nor conformation that this execution actually occurred!

As with most things in North Korea, getting any confirmation about anything is hard work, they suppress everything so much. They make China look like the global bastion of personal freedoms and democracy.

CharlieSpeirs
Labour Camps are the equivalent to Guantanamo Bay!!!

No, they are not. They aren't even close. In GB, inmates aren't forced to work, are given 3 square meals a day and have a range of legal protections. In the Labour camps, it is rare they get fed, are worked literally to death, have no legal recourse and are subject to arbitrary punishments including physical/sexual abuse and arbitrary executions,

CharlieSpeirs
I won't argue about the forced abortions... But I haven't heard of such a case either!!!
If you can link me to a proven case I'll happily agree!

Again, all this info comes from people who have managed to flee, which is an impressive feat in itself.

Here is a copy of a report by Theo Van Doven, a Dutch Lawyer who specialises in international law and is the UNHCR Special Rapporteur on Torture and Other Cruel,
Inhuman, or Degrading Treatment or Punishment.

Here is an excerpt for you:

Citizens of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea forcibly repatriated from China.

Upon repatriation, citizens of the Democratic People’s Republic are detained in a jail or a detention or interrogation facility and face interrogation, which follows a similar pattern. The authorities ask: “Why did you go to China? Where did you go? What did you do in each place? Did you meet any South Koreans? Did you go to a Christian church? Did you watch or listen to South Korean TV or radio? Were you trying to go to South Korea?” An affirmative answer would result in execution or being sent to a kwan-liso or kyo-hwa-so. Usually after several weeks of interrogation, the detainees are sent to short-term detention facilities (i.e. for sentences up to six months), such as do-jip-kyul-so (provincial detention centres) and ro-dong-dan-ryeon-dae (labour-training centres) The facilities are characterized by below-subsistence- level food rations, forced labour, such as construction work or brickmaking, and high levels of death in detention. They are administered by the In-min-bo-anseong (People’s Safety Agency) and the Kuk-ga-bo-wi-bu (National Security Agency police). Women who are pregnant at the time of repatriation are compelled to have abortions, or their babies are killed immediately after birth, particularly in Sinuiju, Onsong, and Chongjin, to prevent them from having “half-Chinese” babies.

However, if you do some legwork, you can many reports of the very same thing if you don't like my source. I verified that the chap who wrote it is real before accepting it myself.

CharlieSpeirs
Ever tried recording sports without permission (if you are American)?

Nope, not a Yank and I record "sport" all the time. In fact, the last England Football game I recorded and watched two days after the event and I did so on the Tivo box supplied by my cable company, not anything dodgy or illicit.

CharlieSpeirs
That's also against the law!!!

Not here or anywhere else in Europe, so I really couldn't care!

CharlieSpeirs
How about encrypting your SkyBox, Cable etc to anything outside of the chosen Western stations... No because it's also illegal!!!

You seem to be confused. You're talking about cable/sat boxes whereas I am talking about the sets themselves.

In the DPRK, TV's (if you're lucky to have one) and Radio's come pre-tuned to fixed stations and trying to tune in to another or even tampering with them is a "serious offence" (see Labour camps above). In the West, our TV's can be tuned to whatever we please. In fact, if I live close enough to France, I can happily tune in to French TV if I so wish. Try to do that in DPRK with SK TV and you'll be shot.

Also, I can if I wish, go to any other provider from pretty much anywhere in the globe, purchase the right decoder, point my dish correctly and watch whatever I please, as long as I get a signal of course.

CharlieSpeirs
I'm not saying that any of this to justify... But more to point out we shouldn't be allowed to use Western propaganda to judge these things when the Think Tanks who bring up all of this know that our Governments do exactly the same thing!!!

You can cry about "Western propaganda" all you like, but pretty much every nation on the planet regards NK as an extreme, crackpot regime. Even China keeps it's distance and only tolerates them to prevent some crisis on their doorstep.

And no, our Governments don't even come close - you're comparing Apples and worms, their so far apart!

Buy food? I`m happy to hear you've progressed to a point where you have food...and are allowed to purchase some. Give it a hundred more years and you`ll be allowed to purchase other stuff too...or perhaps even travel out of country.

Judging by the OP's avatar, I think he may be in Maine not North Korea. So that really begs the question, why does he support NK at all? Everyone with even half a brain that doesn't originally hail from NK itself knows that that country is under the worst government on the planet.

The word "troll" springs to mind.

I think discouraging looking at the other side of the fence is something that should not be practised. I believe in free speech, and part of that is accepting what others have to say.

However, I would invite you to look at more evidence, ignore the news hype, look at personal ones.

Peace to you brother.
