Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.

John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.

Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.

John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.

Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.

Both wives lost a child while living in the White House.

Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.

Both Presidents were shot in the head.

Now it gets really weird.

Lincoln's secretary was named Kennedy.

Kennedy's Secretary was named Lincoln.

Both were assassinated by Southerners.

Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.

Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808.

Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.

John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839.

Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.

Both assassins were known by their three names.

Both names are composed of fifteen letters.

Now hang on to your seat.

Lincoln was shot at the theater named "Ford."

Kennedy was shot in a car called "Lincoln" made by "Ford."

Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.

And here's the "kicker":

A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland.

A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe.

AND...................:

Lincoln was shot in a theater and the assassin ran to a warehouse...

Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and the assassin ran to a theater...
I saw this had to share just in case anyone did not know.

Most of the items above are true, such as the year in which Lincoln and Kennedy were each elected President, but this is not so unusual given that Presidential elections are held only every four years, and both started their political careers 100 years apart. Other items leave out details that are different. A few of the items are simply untrue; there is no record to show that Lincoln had a secretary named Kennedy; Lincoln's secretaries were John Hay and John G. Nicolay.[4] The list also has inspired humorous parody, such as an item that says: "Before being killed, Lincoln was in Monroe, Maryland, while Kennedy was in Marilyn Monroe."

Don't forget what got them both killed:
Greenbacks and Silver certificates.
The bankers will not tolerate the US creating and circulating it's own currency.
They lose profits that way after all, poor things.

A lot of that is just silly. JFK wanted nothing to do with civil rights as he was focused on general foreign policy, banking reform, tort reform , Cuba, Berlin, Southeast Asia and all his Camelot reforms were stuck in Congress, were about all poor and disadvantaged-not just blacks.

Booth was not assassinated-he shot himself, or was shot by a solder.

Booth left the side door of the theater and jumped on his horse being held by a stable boy.

Oswald had spent more time in Japan and Russia that he had the American south.

The theater was called Fords not Ford.

Oswald was not assassinated, he was murdered.

Patrick Kennedy died from a underdeveloped lung at childbirth. Lincoln's son died of influenza.

There is no evidence whatsoever that JFK had even met Marylin Monroe.

John Wilkes Booth was born in 1838, Oswald was born in 1939

There are more.

Those comparisons were made fifty years ago when Kennedy was assassinated. I read them when I was seven.
It was interesting to read them again but this is not new by any stretch.
