There is an error with your video.

In the meantime, I'll just say...wouldn't surprise me really and NK would probably be a proxy for China.

I'm pretty sure China monitors us too. In every piece of electronic equipment they ship us...which is mind-boggling. Most of it's also probably capable of being set off via satellite as billions of little explosions. Short hairs, anyone?

If you've ever done any shortwave listening, you can hear most of these stations every night clear as a bell. It doesn't mean that they have repeaters here.

The US has these all over the Globe. It's called Propaganda and the US is the master.

Why the alarm?

Seriously? On a decent night, you can get Voice of Korea, which is the primary NK radio station. IIRC I had the best luck somewhere around 11MHz, but they've got stations up and down the band.

Broadcast guide for VOK

Man, are you in for a treat. I have done SWL and was a HAM since I was a wee lad, I think I got my first ticket at 11. We have a big farm near Toccoa, GA, and I had long wires all over the place. Used to have a big old tube Collins SWL rig, you could get all sorts of news all night. You can usually "scoop" the local news by hours, sometimes days. I remember right after I got it the Israeli Olympic team got killed, I was listening to it on Deutsche Welle live. Wandered into the living room and said "The Israelis just got massacred in Munich". You didn't hear it on the news for about six hours.

It's interesting to hear the things you DON'T hear here, and which things come across "modified". And the Russian and PRC radio stations used to be hilarious, but they're more international now. I don't think they have the tirades about lackeys and running dogs like they used to.
