Yeah...not a coincidence.

I guess turnabout is fair play but if in fact they did get the idea and some of the information here, they should cite their source

That's what I'm wondering. As many know if you don't cite a source in college you are subject to charges of plagiarism. Here, yes maybe at least a citation would have been fair.Must have been funny when Slayer saw his own screenshots!

They could be just nabbing pictures from google search. ATS threads appear there pretty quickly.

Still, it's possible they do it to ATS just as we do it to other news sites on a regular basis.

That seems like the most reasonable cause, I have done searches to re-research subjects after I post them only to find my thread at the top!

Facebook "white poppy for peace" had this image on their site March 3rd. Slayer's post was March 7.

www.facebook.com...

The image used by the Guardian looks more like the image used by the "white poppy for peace" campaign than the image Slayer posted to ATS.

So, as far as the OP's claim goes, no - ATS did not "scoop the web," in fact I'd say it is just the opposite, ATS only re-posted information from elsewhere.

Well if they are monitoring us, the forum would have to somehow be locked. Can't let them know whats coming to em. Also the storie(s) would need to be posted in normal forums to seem normal..

more likely they have a dedicated staffer scan ATS for stories. maybe springer needs to go after copyright infringement.

So what is Springer going to say? ATS stole those pictures first? Good work, kudos, and all that, but the pics are not ATS property. In theory, whoever took them originally could go after ATS for infringement. It's not gonna happen, but legally speaking be careful what you claim as yours.

Exactly... unless slayer personally took those pictures while he was in Ukraine himself, then they're not his images or ATS images, almost ALL of our content on this site comes from elsewhere, it's all reposted, rehashed stuff borrowed from other people.
Not original content.

ATS is more of a resource than you can imagine. Media types, screenwriters, novelists, filmmakers, etc all cruse the boards looking
for juicey tidbits and ideas.

All the screenwriters I know are members.

ATS almost always scoops...

Seriously, it was an ATSer that posted about Aurora before anyone else because the poster had a police scanner and was in that area...

If you want news first you see ATS and keep your eye here... everything all in one place... best place on the web for it really.

ATS scoops all the time. Not a new thing.

Heck, right this second because of ATS I could write a story and scoop everyone else... everyone... right this second. Would be a career maker...

"an unconfirmed source close to the scene said today... " totally awesome! Much better to confirm it though... sadly... lol

this is definitely the place for stories... too bad I'm not a journalist...

Some someone here posts someone else's material and when another site does the same it is infringement here? Is that what is being implied?

Doubt that. Theres no point to showing the exact same screen capture(s)…

Alright, The guilty member will now confess!

If true, and they don't give credit, they have earned their own uncreative lives. Thieves and crooks seldom brag about where they got their loot from, but if other writers know this about someone else, what a shameful way of earning a living. If an idea strikes it rich, and it came from someone else, at least a finders fee should be paid. If not, common thieves.

Sorry man.

I don't think that is 'blackwater' unless 'American mercenaries' carry ak-47's and dragonov sniper rifes.
