CNN is already trying to discredit the Chinese on this.

Maybe the Chinese actually the best tech despite what the US government tells it's people after spending all the money.

CNN is not your friend! They are pathological liars and they work for the government. Propaganda is all that they do. All of the news stations are no better, they are all tools of the government. Filling our brains with lies...

CNN's latest breaking news: a Chinese Air Force plane has spotted objects in the search zone. A few minutes later, CNN said that objects were also spotted in photographs.

In other words, SNAFU.

Hope it's for realsies, but...
Color Me: Skeptical.

(The news comes from Beijing and has not been confirmed.)

I hear ya. I am really skeptical as well, even though this just came out. It is a roller coaster, and it really does not stop even if it is true.
Google Earth put the water depth at that location at around 20,000ft, (in comparison, the Titanic rests at 12,000ft).

If this is correct, then it is one mother of a salvage and recovery operation. They are going to need the likes of Ballard to pull that off. In a way, I kind of hope it is not the aircraft, with some slim hope that there is an alternate scenario. It goes on and on....

I have to agree. CNN wants views to sell commercials. They are factually incorrect often.

Thanks for that info. I had wondered about the depth in that part of the IO. If this isn't another false lead, I wonder if the technology exists to salvage wreckage at this depth.

Than again, I wonder why a Chinese vessel was searching in this area--a vessel that isn't used ordinarily to find pings (or so say the talking heads on MSM).

25S, 101E shows the water depth at 14,554' on my Google Earth. That's off by a mile from 20,000'. Still deep though.

MSM quickly learned the correlation between ratings and doom porn, and respectable journalism went the way of the dinosaurs. Last week's (multiple) tragic events--the shooting, earthquakes, 370--were shamelessly shilled, and much seems to be culled from these pages.

Yea, I stand corrected, thanks. There is a trench down there, and I was off a few miles in long. Seems the true location is in a higher range.
Still deep, but a mile is a big deal.

While watching a video with Sarah Bajc and CNN, and I saw a link for a better video about Cope Tiger 2014 in Thailand. Was this a planned exercise or is this in response to whatever happened to MH370? There were a lot of fighters launched!

Cope Tiger is an annual exercise that has gone on since 1994. You don't just throw something like that together.

This from CNN report on pings...

The ship first detected a signal Friday but couldn't record it because the signal stopped abruptly, a Shanghai-based Communist Party newspaper said. The signal detected Saturday, the Jiefang Daily said, occurred at 3:57 p.m. Beijing time (3:57 a.m. ET) and lasted about a minute and a half.

Excuse me, but if you have this sophisticated and terribly expensive equipment in the water, detecting pings, is your recorder not ON?
At least you would have something to analyze and there would be a bearing to it provided by the ping detector. I find this hard to believe. You would expect the signals to fade in and out, because of the acoustic properties in the water. Temperature gradients (thermoclines) cause sound to channel and reflect. Having a recording of first detection is crucial.

If this was a towed detector then it could have stopped abruptly because it suffered a leak (ie water ingression) pretty common in underwater towed gear.

Malaysian Authorities disclosed the military radar track of the mysterious aircraft in the Straits of Malacca to a news conference on 21 March 2014:

It did not zig-zag from south to north then west as we were previously told...

It was not tracked to 45,000ft as we were previously told...

It was not tracked from IGARI as we were previously told...

It was most likely either UAE343 or SIA68

Sure, but if the recorder was on, whatever they did get would be permanently stored and available for analysis.

For some reason many of the human race consistently overrate the planning skills, logic and comprehension ability of the majority of the human race.

I can envision the captain saving his precious recording tape. Guess no one told him that he can call home to China and get a case of 10,000 reels or cassettes for $2.99.

Think about this. CNN has their aviation analyst blowhard Richard Quest flying in the cockpit with the co-pilot of MH370 a week or two before it disappeared. That is a violation of safety protocols. It's multiplied many times more because Quest is a known meth-head and there's no predicting what the man is capable of doing. Remember CNN has been busted many times broadcasting fake news. This Quest character is magnitudes more annoying than Piers Morgan! He's working for the people who are responsible for the MH370 debacle.

I just found this in the Federal Register about security vulnerabilities of the Boeing 777. Too much electronics and prone to hacking!
Special Conditions: Boeing Model 777-200, -300, and -300ER Series Airplanes; Aircraft Electronic System Security Protection From Unauthorized Internal Access

The proposed architecture is novel or unusual for commercial transport airplanes by enabling connection to previously isolated data networks connected to systems that perform functions required for the safe operation of the airplane. This proposed data network and design integration may result in security vulnerabilities from intentional or unintentional corruption of data and systems critical to the safety and maintenance of the airplane. The existing regulations and guidance material did not anticipate this type of system architecture or electronic access to aircraft systems. Furthermore, regulations and current system safety assessment policy and techniques do not address potential security vulnerabilities, which could be caused by unauthorized access to aircraft data buses and servers.

It could be that Richard Quest flying a week before the disappearance,
a stray or sheer co incidence, though it does raise some eyebrows.

Rothschild and Malaysian Airlines: The connections. Rothschild - Khazanah Nasional - Malaysian Airlines

Need any more proof that this incident is a false flag? I don't.
Malaysian Airlines and Khazanah Nasional

The peculiarities of the case have kept the missing plane at the top of the global news agenda for more than a week -- placing the carrier under a harsh and unwanted spotlight at a time when it is desperate to turn its finances around. Last month, Malaysia Airlines (MAS) announced a 1.17 billion ringgit ($360 million) loss for the year to December 2013, exceeding analysts' expectations. The airline, which is 70% owned by Khazanah Nasional, Malaysia's state investment arm, last posted a net profit -- 237 million ringgit -- in 2010. In 2011 and 2012, it reported consecutive losses of 2.5 billion ringgit and 433 million ringgit respectively. Analysts have long blamed poor management, government interference, a bloated workforce, and powerful, change-resistant unions for preventing the airline from remaining competitive.

MAS, Malaysia’s national carrier, started its services in 1947 with just one twin engine Air Consul that sat only five. Since then, however, Malaysia Airlines has become an award-winning airline with a fleet of more than 100 aircraft, spreading its wings across six continents and servicing more than 100 different destinations.

So it is all a lie, this is all an elaborate plan. Malaysian Airlines was losing too much money lately for Rothschild, so they decided to take it into bankruptcy in a final blaze of doom. It remains to be seen what the final act will be. Perhaps crashing an airliner into the Petronas Towers?

Because one crash is going to drive an airline into bankruptcy. Happens every time one crashes.

Oh....wait.
