U.S. officials have an "indication" the missing Malaysia Airlines jetliner may have crashed in the Indian Ocean and is moving the USS Kidd to the area to begin searching.
Satellite images released by 'mistake' On the Chinese satellite images, Hussein confirmed that planes had been dispatched to examine the area concerned. “We deployed our assets but found nothing,” he said. We contacted the Chinese embassy who notified us that the images were released by mistake and did not show any debris from MH370.
In a sign of how deep the distrust of waiting families has become, China’s state broadcaster CCTV News said on Twitter that relatives asked Malaysian diplomats in Beijing whether the military had shot down the plane - a suggestion the Malaysians swiftly denied. CCTV also said that relatives refused to let the embassy representatives leave the meeting.
Satellite images posted on a Chinese government website appear to show three unidentified floating objects in the waters between Malaysia and Vietnam near the flight path of the missing Malaysia Airlines plane.
The blurry images were taken by Chinese satellites on Sunday and loaded today onto the Sastind website, which is operated by China's national defense science and technology ministry. It described one of the images as "some debris in the area where the Malaysian Airlines passenger plane lost contact and was suspected to crash."
It's not clear whether the objects will turn out to be related to the doomed flight MH370 or turn into another false lead that has plagued searchers since the plane disappeared with its 239 passengers five days go.
The largest object measured 78 feet by 72 feet while the smaller objects are 45 feet by 62 feet, and 42 feet by 59 feet, according to the Chinese agency.
But we're your government we don't make mistakes or lie to you , trust us .

Was hoping to wake up and hear the plane had been found, and it hasn't. Now they're saying the satellite image does not show the plane and they released it by mistake!!!??!! WTF?? By mistake???!!?

The families continue to distrust the official story and are now asking if the plane was shot down:

A thought occurred to me. What if the hypoxia theory is correct, and the pilots were massively confused and disoriented. What if they did reach the Diego Garcia area, and weren't able to answer any radio hails? And the plane was subsequently shot down for that lack of response? I mean, either way, a plane full of knocked out people isn't going to land nicely, but what if they did shoot it down? Maybe not so much a CYA deal as it could be trying to find the wreckage to figure out why the plane cruising their way acted in that manner?
Still though, I think if it was shot down for defensive reasons, admitting as much would be a huge benefit, and would lend a little closure to the families for the time being.

Yes I know it's a major base. Do they have nukes there?
The status of the Indian Ocean island of Diego Garcia, controlled by the United Kingdom and used as a military base by the United States, with regard to the Treaty is unclear. Diego Garcia is part of the Chagos Archipelago claimed by Mauritius. The other islands of the Chagos Archipelago are considered in Africa and are under the treaty, but neither the United States nor the United Kingdom recognizes Diego Garcia as being subject to the Treaty.[26][27]

I do not know for sure. Rumors abound, but nothing is fact that I have seen. When we landed there to refuel, nothing indicated so.
