If your ancestors truly where born in the 13 Colonies then they where British Citizens.

But, they were still special British Citizens though - right?

:-)

Honestly - it's like the Mayflower was some kind of ark

Only after the Brits took over the Dutch colonies.

Same goes for the tribes as well, as they were captured by the Kings forces.

But according to you, the people who founded the US get no credit, only the immigrants.

You join your British buddy in call the founders a bunch of bigots and slavers who couldn't have succeeded with out immigrants.

I get it, according to you,

My ancestors were dogs, and yours were saints.

Pick a fight with words I actually said - not what you wish I'd said

Do you mean the same way as the 13 colonies where taken over by the treasonous colonists?

Yes, i think you do.

Why didn't you just put the New England Patriots as your source.

New England 'Region" is a far cry from 6 States Called New England. From your 'Source'

The New England region of the U.S. is comprised of six very unique states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont — all easily reached through the gateway city of Boston.

Hows the weather there?

My ancestors were born here in the US before it was founded as a nation, they were not immigrants to the US. The colonized North America. There is a definite differences. Just as the Spanish colonized Mexico.

You're family were immigrants. Just like mine. Are you Native Indian?

poet1b
I don't know where you get the comment on the "brown ones" Because I see the US flag as a symbol of liberty, that means I am a bigot?

Because you seem to have a problem with immigrants, unless they're British, which all of your family originally were.

Your true colors are coming out. Clearly, in your own mind, you are so superior to us.

You're speaking to someone who practices Buddhism, I don't even consider myself above a plant.

I find it interesting that you claim that this country wasn't built on the backs of immigrants and yet you only refer to the 13 original colonies. Last time I checked this country was much larger than the Eastern Seaboard. There are plenty of places throughout the US that managed to thrive thanks to immigrants. Do you think it was "Americans" that primarily settled in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan? No. It was Scandinavian immigrants. When I visit my family in Cleveland most of the people I meet are either the children or grandchildren of immigrants from Eastern Europe or Italy.

And what of those areas that were developed before they came under US control? New Orleans wouldn't exist if it weren't for the French. Could they fly the French flag over the US flag? San Diego wouldn't exist if it weren't for the Spanish? Is it okay for them to fly the Spanish flag? And what of Texas? It owes a large amount of its unique persona to its time as a Spanish and later Mexican state. Should we disregard the impact foreign influence has had on its identity?

The US as a whole very much was built on the backs of immigrants and even foreign nationals. To disregard this fact disregards a large part of the history of this country.

Words you actually said/posted.

This country was built on the backs of slaves and cheap immigrant labor

Perhaps your own bigotry is so ingrained that you can't see it.

I don't see any credit there for the original pioneers and the people who actually founded the US.

Ah, now I get it, this is some sort of sore point because the colonists won the war against Britain.

That clears things up.

I think things are way out of whack here. Immigrants should make an attempt to adopt to the ways of their host country. That doesn't happen anymore and that pisses off a lot of people. America used to be about a new identity. Now, with immigrants, it's come for what we have and screw everybody and everything else.

Yeah, I got that.

I guess that part about "comprised of six very unique states:" and then giving their names "Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont" is lost on some....
