Heads up, on the last "Hanger 1" show for the season the subject matter is going to be looking at a group either within the government and/or military structure that deals with ufo's. This sounds REALLY good. It is on Friday night on H-2.

Is it going to give us any answers or will it do a typical TV show motif of posing more questions? I haven't watched the series, but does every scene end with the narrator asking a question and then leave it with an open ended "maybe" in the form of the next segment? Y'know, like Ancient Aliens. "Perhaps the non-definitive answer can be found...in the next 4 minute segment."

I will say the show is done by and with Mufon, which I find to be a credible source of info about ufo's. Like I said earlier, when I get a chance today going to watch it and then post comments. I was able to find it on on Demand.

well this was without a doubt, in my opinion, the best " Hangar 1" show from start to finish. The subject was the "shadow government" whose responsibility was to deal with the ufo situation. As one may expect, this all started with the Roswell crash in 1947, and immediately after the crash, it was President Trumans idea to come up a group called Majestic 12 whose chief and sole responsibility was for handling ufo incidents and investigations.. The decision was made that in order to keep control of public panic, that the explanation for the Roswell crash was of course made by the Air Force, that it was, a weather balloon. The Majestic 12 group was headed by the first Secretary of Defense, a Mr Forestal. Mr. Forestal also just happened to see some of the alien autopsy which happened at Wright Patterson AFB. There was also drawings shown of the face of the aliens. Its the first time I have seen any of the pics of occupants of the Roswell crash. The face looked a bit different from the usual pics of aliens we see, the humanoid face with the large black insect type eyes. The face of this alien looked almost a bit simian.

It wasn't long after Sec. Forestal viewed the alien autopsy many noted something was wrong about him. He just wasn't the same and became somewhat paranoid. His health deteriorated to the point where he became hospitalized and was high up in a hospital on the 16th floor. At some point he supposedly jumped from this floor to his death, but scuff marks in the area of the window he allegedly jumped from indicated signs of a struggle. Was he possibly pushed? Very possibly.

We now shift to the year of 1952 and there were mass sightings of ufo's across the U.S. and in Wash. D.C. in particular. It was then that Project Blue Book began its handling and investigating of ufo sightings. Next. we then jump to a sighting which happened in the year of 1966 in Michigan. It was just south of the Detroit area, but was witnessed by the majority of the people in the town. It was very clear based on the many witnesses that something came down and landed in a swamp. The government had Dr. Allen Hynek investigate this sighting and the conclusion was the ufo was swamp gas! It was very clear to the majority of the people in the town who saw this, that this was not swamp gas which landed. Dr. Hyneks' conclusion didn't sit well with then Gerald Ford, who was the state of Michigan's Congressional Rep. at the time in 1966, who requested a further investigation into this particular ufo incident. Ford of course went on to become President of the U.S. Meanwhile sightings of ufo's across the country continue.

The next investigative entity to look at ufo's was the Condon report who it seemed generally, was to downplay the possibility of ufo's being real and in fact Edward Condon himself, considered the subject of ufo's to be " nonsense," in his own words. So, in summary the "shadow government" handling of ufo's began under President Truman and just after the crash at Roswell. The government came to the conclusions again and again that they had to protect the public from "panic" regarding the subject of ufo's.

It seems the shadow government is still alive and well to this day.

Honestly, this episode sounds like a bunch of conjecture like the President's show they did. I really liked their overview of sitings as it relates to nuclear power, but the show seems more miss than hit.

My vote for best new show would be "close encounters".

I really enjoy UFO hunters, but they repeat the same stuff CONSTANTLY (some times just minutes after they said the same words) which really bugs me so i hope the new one isnt like that!!!!

After rewatching the excellent installment of "Hangar 1" which pertained to pilots sightings, there is not a single bit of doubt what so ever, that Airline Pilots face serious suppression and repercussions if they dare come forward and talk about what they have seen. Case in point the JAL Captain who saw a huge mothership, and several smaller support ufo's while flying over Anchorage in the 1980's. His price was a demotion to a desk job only for talking openly. How sad.

I did get to watch the majestic show this weekend and it was like the presidents/spacefleet episodes. I just dont get it, even its true, there isnt enough there to make it more than a coffee table discussion. It is hard to believe the same people who did those also did the Hotspots, Pilots testimonials, and Coverups episodes.

Hanger 1: I got stuck into the first 4 episodes and enjoyed it a lot! Certainly feels fresh and along modern thought patterns. Enough basics to hopefully help introduce people and enough grounded (contemporary) speculation to give it good depth if you've already some knowledge/ideas of your own. What else did I think of it? Find out, when we return:

Lots of cases and ideas I hadn't come across before also, and some favorites - Admiral Byrd already mentioned within the first couple of episodes, haha! A more "conclusive" feel than Ancient Aliens which had a stronger "speculation" theme IMO. Also some spooky co-incidences occurred during my viewings which is always a good sign Good show! Probably is teh best for now

Mufon has done their homework with respect to building cases for their programs. Hope they do some more shows.

NASA's 'Unexplained Files" seems reasonably balanced [spoiler: I'm interviewed], the others you mentioned were slanted and fictionalized well beyond the boundaries of intellectual honesty, IMHO. But that's the audience they aim at, it seems.

NASA unexplained files is a pile of #. They just show things that can be explained, how convenient of them. What about Scott Carpenter's photo of a UFO hee took while in space in 1962? NASA refuses to release that photo. Why? Because that really would be an unexplained file.

latest Hangar 1 show covered underwater UFOs.

They wasted a fair amount of time covering our underwater base, not really sure where they were going with that line of thought. Some sightings, like the shag harbor case deserve their own episode imo, but at least they spent some time covering a few good cases. Not as good as it could have been, but not bad. Including Jerry Church's commentary, as last episode, was a mistake.

I saw this today. It did mention quite a few sightings in or underwater that I had never heard of before! Had never heard of the sightings in the Great Lakes area, which was compared to the Bermuda Triangle. USO's don't get the attention that ufo's do it seems. Many sightings in the show that went way back, to 1953 even. Older than me! True, Shag Harbour has been mentioned many times. It actually was the subject of one show of UFO files.

perhaps they chose not to give shag harbor its own episode since it has been well covered.

It would be really nice if more people came foward on the Norway incident in 63, I tend towards the incident being real, but still a single witness case for the time being.

Season 2 , episode 6 of Hanger-1, Hunted by UFOs

They list the cases on their website which is a nice change, but it would be even nicer if they linked to the case files. It appears all the cases are unique to MUFON. And even though most of them have a case file, i couldnt find them in their online database. Maybe I am looking in the wrong place, but why list the cases that were discussed if there is no way to find them online?

Train is hit head on by oncoming UFO, then asked to take it to a mysterious location where there is a team waiting to disassemble the train. MUFON confesses an inability to verify much of this case, conductor was not willing to risk his career going public.

For whatever reason, probably just the recreation was well done, this was the most interesting. Police Helicopter notices another object flying 200 feet below them and they start to give chase since nothing should be flying that low over a city. The ufo decides to get up close and personal with the copter.

Im a Dolan supporter, but this show is hit or miss in this regard. Quote doesnt sound too good just on the heels of the Roswell slide fiasco either...

On to the episode which was one of the better ones. Theme - why so many UFOs in Texas, its obvious they were grasping for an over arching theme, but really doesnt detract from the show.

1. Stephenville Tx - good overview of this case, could have easily been an entire episode, but im sure they know other shows have done this.

2. Levelland TX = I recommend everyone check this case out, multiple vehicles in this town at separate locations all run into an orb on the road that shuts down their vehicle.

3. Lubbock lights - Not sure what to make of this, but its interesting. Show documents that there were 2 different reports done for this case by the govt, one - move along, nothing to see, other - we need to figure this out...

4. Cash Landrum - family is scarred by UFO radiation and daunting medical bills. Even Bill Birnes believes it was probably military, but if so, just shows you how wreckless they can be while testing this equipment. The ATS thread linked brings the entire event into question.

5. Fort Hood - Witness observes a ufo escorted onto the base by helicopters. Single witness case it appears. MUFON claims there are numerous sightings just like this one , and a group of chopters called the Blue Boys is setup for ufo retrieval. Then some vague insider info is given about how much technology is there, nothing specific however.

6. Fort Hood, formerly Camp Hood, apparently has a history of UFO activity. Many ufos seen in 1949. Dolan breaks in to tells Camp Hood is one of 3 locations where nuclear weapons were stored.
