Message Alert System

I'm not sure if this has already been covered on another thread, but wouldn't it be more practical if there were a way to know that you have a message? I sent a message to someone that was relatively knew, and that person didn't know that I messaged them until much later. I also think that it would be good to delete a step out of the things we usually do here on ATS. Instead of check MyATS, check New, and check Messages, we can whittle it down to significantly fewer things on our queue. I'd like to know if this is in the works.

The envelope icon in the upper-right corner (in between the RSS icon and search icon) will lighten (or darken if on light theme) to let you know you have new messages.

Remember however, this works unless the sender then reads their sent message to you.

That marks it read and the message icon returns back to a no-new-message icon.
