My condolences to asen_y2k , more likely Crimea disconnected from the rest of Ukraine , as it is likely it will make the eastern region. The rest of the Ukraine ( especially in the western part ) is likely to apply all methods Poland . Ukraine as a state with every hour closer to oblivion . Something that I just read on BBC makes me think of buying a air ticket out of here before airports get closed:

I would seriously start thinking about an exit plan. Because if it gets ugly it will get real ugly fast.
Airports will be the first things to be hit.
The goal will be to take them over or deny their use to anyone else.
I don't know what part of the Ukraine you are in.
If your in the west start looking for a land exit out and stock up on gas, water and food now.
Technically it's already too late but try anyway.
If your in the east be prepared to hunker down in place.

Hopefully it won't come to that but WW1 started because no one knew how to stop it.

There is nothing to worry about, imnho. Russia gets Crimea, either by annex or by proxy. They've always had it. With the threat from the north and the government of Ukraine unstable, with some forces running around not knowing who will be in charge in a week, the Crimea is not in play anymore. Protection of interests is in the interest of all superpowers (Russia still is a superpower, semantics aside), so China and the U.S., the E.U, Israel and the rest, will allow this one while publicly shaking their fingers and barking to impress the people at home.

I'm so convinced of this point of view that I'm not even following this very closely, as I'd usually do as a news addict.

Of all the equipment the Russians are carrying I have yet to see any personal night vision, and they don't have enough choppers to effectively patrol the whole region. Night time sabotage of vehicles and such is always an option.. at least bide their time a little.
