The only belief in regards to war (if the term can even be applied on the following scale) is that when someone tries to harm you or your property, you defend your self to the best of your ability. I would not suggest war or physical bodily violence in any situation unless out of direct self defense (which hasnt happened in centuries and will probably never happen again unless accompanied by a life changing event at which point the whole common understanding of military would go out the window).

Nazi Germany
Pearl Harbor
South Ossetia

The list goes on.
People enjoying their lives then getting killed or blown up.

Yes, evil exists. There is no debating that. More evil doing is not the solution unless in direct accordance with immediate self defense.

China entering a nuclear security pact with Ukraine?

" on Dec. 5 signed a cooperative agreement which included this article: China, according to the UN Security Council Resolution 984 and the Chinese government statement on providing security guarantees to Ukraine on Dec. 4, 1994, promises unconditionally not to use or threaten to use nuclear weapons against non-nuclear Ukraine, and to provide security guarantees to Ukraine if Ukraine is attacked by nuclear weapons or threatened by such aggression."

What we are seeing in Ukraine is deep Western interference in politics of Ukraine and massive propaganda through all media channels.

Ukraine is an impoverished country today, almost broke due to the interference of Western forces.

The "aspiration" of some Ukrainians to identify with the Europeans does not give them the right to create chaos in the country. A democracy means that important matters should be put to vote.

We shall see the course of events unfolding in Ukraine. It is too early to draw any conclusions.

it's in french but here what they think of that

french.cri.cn...

In a true democracy that would be true. but given the western interference and the Russian interference the people may have felt hopeless. Only our Ukrainian brothers can really testify to the atmosphere in the country pre-rioting, but I do know how it feels to have big money wipe out my voice.

According to Qin Gang, China condemns extremist activities in Ukraine in recent weeks and urges the parties concerned to resolve their internal problems peacefully and in accordance with the law.

The current situation in Ukraine has its raison d'être. China follows closely the developments of the crisis and calls on the parties concerned to find a political solution while respecting international law, said the Chinese spokesman.

Many many years ago, i was brainwashed by the American propaganda like many other people were. Thus I always sided with America and NATO whenever they engaged in a new conflict to police the world. After the cold war was over and EU got established I changed my world view radically.

Crimea was given away just about 50 years ago by a dictator in a time when the ordinary Russian people didn’t have a say in the question. About 60% of the people that lives there are Russians. Thus Crimea belongs to Russia not only Ethnically, geographically and cultural, but also historically.

Thus, it is not hard to sympathize with Russia and the Russian people in this case. Crimea should IMV. rightfully belong to Russia.
The Ukranian rebels must have known that their offensive mocking and provocative actions against Russia eventually would result in a military action by the Russians. One does not need an IQ of 150 to figure that out. Yet they ignored all such warnings and kept igniting the situation even further. They did all this and was not afraid of the consequences, because they taught they were backed by America, EU and NATO and the UN.

Well it turned out that they were wrong. Now Ukraina has lost Crimea to Russia, which in my view now are the rightful owners again. The Ukrainians have just themselves to thank. If the Ukrainian rebels now takes steps to ignite the conflict even further, they will probably lose even more. Nobody will help them, because the whole world now knows that the glorious period when America , EU and NATO was policing the world, attacking countries that was not a threat to them are definitely now over.

I also believe that if the Ukrainian rebels (Now, in addition) are foolish enough to borrow endless amounts of fake fiat money from their criminal organization called IMF in the weeks to follow , they would certainly have to pay an even higher price, because America and the EU won’t hesitate to enslave the Ukrainaina people economically for the rest of their lives and pick them clean for everything they got. In my view Ukraina has not done anything right in this confict. I am thankful though, that no one has been hurt. Let therefore this be a lesson learned for other countries not to thrust America and the EU in the future.

"We, the leaders of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States and the President of the European Council and President of the European Commission, join together today to condemn the Russian Federation’s clear violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, in contravention of Russia’s obligations under the UN Charter and its 1997 basing agreement with Ukraine. We call on Russia to address any ongoing security or human rights concerns that it has with Ukraine through direct negotiations, and/or via international observation or mediation under the auspices of the UN or the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe. We stand ready to assist with these efforts."

Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin agreed to establish an international mission to the Crimean issue. Such a proposal made German Chancellor Angela Merkel . According to the Chancellor , it will help to start a political dialogue . Recall Crimea does not recognize the new Ukrainian authorities . A Federation Council authorized the use of the Russian armed forces in Ukraine . Russia is ready to develop relations with brotherly Ukraine. But the country - this is not the group of people who , by shedding His blood on the Maidan, seized power in violation of the Constitution and other laws of the state. This whole country . This comment was left on his Facebook page Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev . He stopped and Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych . According to the head of the government, despite the " insignificant authority " of the president , to dismiss him was glad during impeachment.

In Krym, in 2 hrs time, an ultimatum has been set by Russian Troops at one of the bases there that still has Ukranian Soldiers within it. There are about a dozen soldiers with several hunded Russian surrounding the place.

Russian soldiers have stated that at 8am their time, to either change sides and deffect and lay down their arms or there will be repurcussions.

There have been reports of Russian soldiers using flash bang grenades to try and provoke retaliation from Ukrainian soldiers.

I have also gotten reports that Russian Militias in Eastern Ukraine have threatend the families of Ukrainian soldiers if they did not defect to the Russian side.

Very quickly spiralling out of control....The West needs strong action, not words and they need to do it NOW! not tomorrow or next week. Weakness here will set a precedent, who's next?

Lithuana, Latvia and Estonia? Then onto Poland ad the former Eastern block?

How far will the West allow Russia to keep pushing?

I wonder if Ukraine secretly kept any nukes? and if they have the ability to use them in self defence or not......it "may" come to that.

So after this ultimatum is up, are they going to round up all of the soldiers that don't want to surrender and send them back the mainland of Ukraine? Seems like the Crimean will be flying a Russian flag soon because that has to be the end goal.

I read that the Crimean doesn't even recognize the new Ukrainian leadership, so now it all makes sense in my mind what is going on here.

90% of law enforcement officers stationed in the Crimea, went over to the authorities of the peninsula. The chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Autonomous Republic Sergey Aksenov . Oath of allegiance to the inhabitants of autonomy and brought the heads of key departments . Solemn oath given in Simferopol Crimea security chief , the head of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the autonomous republic , head of the emergency services , as well as acting chief frontier . A little earlier in Sevastopol oath Crimeans brought commander of the naval forces of Ukraine Denis Berezovsky, who was appointed to the post of Kiev a few days ago . Already announced that he will lead the Navy created the Crimea. Today should be a decision on the formation of the Ministry of Defense . At the same time as the Prime Minister of Crimea , no prosecution of those who do not go to the side of autonomy , will not. " Not a single soldier who does not agree today to take the oath of the Crimean autonomy , will not be charged with any crime , I'll guarantee you . This all military will retain all payments , benefits, all statutory Packages pensions. Nobody gets hurt . we are only talking about cases where soldiers refusing to obey orders , his actions bring harm to life and health of people. Then, of course , all of this will be investigated in the framework of the law , "- he said. Sergey Aksenov also noted that the government of the autonomous republic in full control of the situation in Crimea. In particular, the self-defense forces occupied all the arsenals . Roads duty soldiers and combatants "Berkut" .

So, as far as we see we have no russian troops in Ukraine. We see spontaneously created militias Crimea from illegitimate power in Kiev. Any attempt to break this power on the Crimean peninsula could be considered military intervention bandits on the autonomous republic.

Amen! whats with all this 'well technically they aren't Russian' stuff? They came from Russia with guns! Russia would have disowned them if they weren't really Russian. It would make things simpler if we just called it like it is... across the whole board.
