The Ukrainian army offensive against regions controlled by militia in the South-East of the country will become the last attack of the present Kiev authorities, Crimea’s acting Head Sergei Aksyonov and Crimean State Council (parliament) Chairman Vladimir Konstantinov said on Thursday, May 1, commenting on media reports about a possible resumption of the army operation in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

"The crooks in Kiev do not understand that everything they are doing will boomerang on them personally. A war against one’s own people has never done any good. We think they must be put on trial," Aksyonov said, adding, "At any rate, history will make its own assessment of these villains who are sending troops against their own people."
In his opinion, a resumption of the army operation will produce a result opposite to that expected by Kiev. "They still do not understand that all this will bring about resistance ten times stronger than now. The killing of peaceful people must not be forgiven no matter what goals are pursued. They must come to their senses," Aksyonov said.

I tend to agree. You cannot win a war against people.
Slovyansk is fast becoming a symbol of people's resistance against oppressive regime sponsored by US.

Well looks like Russia backed down on their threats now they're talking about what history will think. I figured a much stronger response with further threats. And yeah i agree Ukraine is turning into a symbol just not the one your thinking i have a feeling this is going to unite Ukrainians before its over. Because next theycan turn there attention to russia.

LOL, too funny. All I can say on that is RIP Ukraine.
You might have more chance to go on a galaxy cruise in a spaceship of some advanced race than see people
of Western and Eastern Ukraine united again.

Look at your avatar. Is that the future you want for Eastern Ukraine?

According to what is going on over there, that is a future Junta is planning for Eastern Ukraine.

It is the response NATO will have to Russia's coup. You have been warned.

You have never provided any evidence that the protesters on Maidan received any support from the West besides moral support. Even if there were outside influences, how does that justify putting Russian troops in the street in Crimea, which was not experiencing rioting? Now fascist thugs are throwing molotov cocktails at policemen in Eastern Ukraine. Why? Kiyev was making no attempt to use force in the region. Russian agitators are trying to force Ukrainian troops to fire on their own citizens. Why? So that Russia can send in their "peacekeepers." Innocent Ukrainians and Russians are about to die so Putin can cover himself in stolen glory. Tragic.

Re-escalation : GO!

By unleashing a ‘punitive operation’ in Eastern Ukraine, Kiev has destroyed the last hope for the implementation of the Geneva agreement on de-escalation of Ukranian crisis, Vladimir Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

Neither side was bargaining in good faith. Kiyev was buying time to arm and train its militia, Russia was using the time to stir up violence in the East to justify sending in "peacekeepers." The phony war is drawing to a close, the real war is beginning. People are about to die for the glory of Czar Vladimir.

MOSCOW, May 02. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian authorities can’t get in touch with presidential special envoy Vladimir Lukin staying in southeast Ukraine, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday.

Presidential special envoy Vladimir Lukin was sent to southeast Ukraine on presidential instructions on Thursday to negotiate a possible release of foreign military observers captured earlier. “After the start of a punitive operation Russia cannot get in contact with Lukin,” Peskov noted.

The term comes from the Second World War. Hitler annexed Austria without firing a shot. He then moved into Czechoslovakia virtually unopposed. There were high level diplomatic meetings to "resolve the crisis." Hitler was just buying time. Eventually, he attacked Poland and the "phony war" was over. The real one had begun. I trust you see the parallel here.

NATO is fully aware of the danger involved in believing that Putin will be satisfied with Crimea. Countries from Latvia to Kazakhstan are frightened that they might be "protected" next. NATO knows that they must damage Putin severely enough that he falls from power in Russia. No-one is saying it, but the object of the sanctions is regime change.
