Asen, that refers to Kramatorsk airfield again. A few reporters are there already and have confirmed nothing is going on apart from some random fella banging on a piece of wood.

Participants march for single Ukraine in Kharkiv - FC " Metalist " and " Dnepr" - attacked people from St. George ribbons.

According to " Interfax- Ukraine " , the attack took place near the stadium " Metalist ". Convoy pelted with stones, sticks. Some witnesses claim that a firearm was used .

The rally for unity ! Ukraine - Donetsk ! Mayor of the city captured by extremists Slovyansk asked Russian President Vladimir Putin " go to town".

She said in a video interview to Russian newspaper "Komsomolskaya Pravda".

"I ask Vladimir Putin, as the only female mayor. Go into the city , state and protect me ," - said in an interview Shtepa .

She also said that Putin sees " a real man and leader , and the temple of peace" .

Speaking of the Ukrainian government , the mayor of Slavic accused her of lying about the promises to hold anti-terror operation , and " pluck the country."

However, Shtepa noted that the Council was the so-called " militias " that have occupied the main administrative building of the city , as " afraid " right market " ."

" The guys came here for an idea , these are not the people who get the money , maybe get somewhere , but I see their moods , they are ready to protect us," - said the mayor about the armed extremists.

She also said that in the past advocated the idea of a referendum on federalism within Ukraine or Russia.

Sanctions to target Russia's defense industry, others: US

Washington (AFP) - The next round of US sanctions against Moscow over Ukraine will target Russia's defense industry as well as individuals and companies close to President Vladimir Putin, a senior US official said Sunday.

"Starting this week, in coordination with our allies and partners, we'll be exerting additional pressure on the people closest to him, the companies they control, the defense industry. All of this," deputy national security adviser Tony Blinken said on CNN's State of the Union.

In a separate interview with CBS's "Face the Nation," Blinken said high technology exports to the Russian defense industry would be affected.

President Barack Obama said earlier Sunday the sanctions being drawn up by G7 countries were a punishment for Moscow's "provocation" in eastern Ukraine.

"It is important for us to take further steps sending a message to Russia that these kinds of destabilizing activities taking place in Ukraine have to stop," Obama said in Kuala Lumpur.

DONETSK, Ukraine — Pro-Russian separatists on Sunday seized control of the offices of regional state television in the eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk and said they would take it off air and broadcast a Kremlin-backed Russian channel instead.

A Reuters reporter said four separatists in masks, with truncheons and shields, were standing at the entrance to the building controlling access, while more separatists in camouflage fatigues could be seen inside.

About 15 police officers were standing a short distance away but were not trying to resist the separatists. One police lieutenant, who was sitting in a police vehicle nearby, said it would have been pointless to intervene.

The Novokramatorsk Machine Building Plant (NKMZ) has provided to the people's self-defense forces of Kramatorsk military equipment "for clearance of minefields set by Ukrainian troops near the city during the so-called "antiterrorist operation," a representative of the press service of the Donetsk People’s Republic told Itar-Tass with reference to NKMZ chairman of the board, deputy of the People’s Council of Kramatorsk Maksim Vlasov.

The request was sent to the NKMZ on April 26. The equipment - engineer vehicles on the base of heavy tanks - was provided on the condition that the militia members would repair it. The repair works go on now.

NKMZ is regarded as a major heavy machine building plant in Ukraine. The enterprise exports to Russia 60% of its products.

The NKMZ press service reported that the plant was suspending its operation until April 28. At the moment, only security guards are staying at the plant with four armoured personnel carriers.

Kramatorsk is currently actively preparing for a referendum on the future of the region and the Russian language status in it. As many as 55 polling stations have been organised. Their work is supervised by the city dwellers having big experience in election campaigns. The food and medicine supply tasks are gradually being fulfilled in the city and the possibilities for the preparation and publication of campaign materials for the referendum are being studied.

SLAVIANSK, Ukraine (Reuters) - One of the eight European observers being detained by pro-Russian separatists in the eastern Ukraine city of Slaviansk on Sunday evening was escorted to an Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) vehicle and driven away.

A Reuters reporter outside the city administration building in Slaviansk said the man came out, escorted by three unarmed men, got into a white OSCE jeep and drove off. The group declined to answer reporters' questions.

Stella Korosheva, a spokeswoman for the separatist mayor of Slaviansk, said the observer who left is a Swedish national. "He has a mild form of diabetes and so we decided to let him go," she told reporters.

Asked if he was the only one of the observers who was to be released on Sunday, she replied: "Yes."
