A bomb placed aboard a microbus killed eight persons including a Russian Army nurse in the renegade Moldovan province of Transnistria, the Infotag
news agency reported on Thursday.
A Mercedes bus operated by a public transport company had just pulled up to a major Tiraspol intersection when a bomb in the vehicle detonated, said
Ivan Leshukov, a city police spokesman. Video cameras taped the explosion and police were reviewing the tapes for clues, Leshukov said. News reports
described the bus as 'torn to bits.' All eight dead were passengers on the fully-loaded bus. The injured included Russian Army captain Aleksander
Zakusilo and sergeant Igor Polezhaev. Moscow maintains some 1,500 troops, an army headquarters, and three massive munitions depots in Transnistria.
Passengers of adjacent trolly bus, and pedestrians, were caught in the explosion was well. A total 26 persons received or were receiving treatment at
Tiraspol hospitals, the report said. Twenty of the injured were listed in serious to critical condition. Hospital officials by afternoon had issued a
call for blood donors.

injuring 46, the republic's official Olvia Pres news agency said. The cause of the explosion was not immediately clear. But a separatist official
suggested that a passenger linked to criminal groups might have been carrying a bomb that went off accidentally
Oleg Beleakov, the separatists' deputy interior minister, was quoted as telling RIA Novosti that a passenger might have been carrying a bomb meant
for a commando killing between criminal business groups, and it might have exploded accidentally on the bus.
