If your piece contains poorly researched facts, awkward grammar, or spelling/punctuation mistakes it will not be considered. In certain cases we may contact you to request corrections and resubmission, but we may not be able to respond to all submissions.
Identity Confirmation: If your submission is accepted, one of our staff will confirm your identity via the email address you provide in this submission form. If we're unable to confirm, your submission will not be considered for publication. Once we confirm a mailing address, we schedule the publication of your article and $75.00 minimum payment for acceptance (if you believe your work demands a higher price, this is the time to negotiate with us).
Original, Previously Unpublished Works: This form is for the submission of previously unpublished and original pieces authored by you. It is acceptable to update or otherwise expand upon preexisting articles, postings, or other intellectual property you have created.
Real Name: If you're not a member of AboveTopSecret.com, we require your real name and email address in order to consider your submission for publication. We will confirm your submission via the email address you provide and as indicated above. If you're not a member, we encourage you to join, as you'll have an opportunity to engage with readers who appreciate your work.
AboveTopSecret.com Members: We do not require the real name of ATS members who provide submissions, however, we encourage you to consider providing this as it greatly enhances the perceived credibility of your article. And, as indicated above, we will need your name to organize payment.
Links: We encourage you to provide links to online content that helps to provide context and/or confirmation of the points raised in your article. Links are not required, but help.
ATS Threads: You will enhance your chances of being accepted for publication if you create a highly engaging and scholarly article that expands upon the issues covered in relatively current threads on ATS. If approved, your article will be posted to the discussion board to encourage commentary from our members. We encourage our newsletter article authors to participate in the follow-up discussion to help everyone understand your position and research. We are not responsible for the acceptance, reactions, and/or comments from discussion board members.
Review: Your submission will be presented for all ATS staff to review and comment. Please do not be discouraged if your submission is not approved, we are striving for an exceptionally high-level of superior content, as well as a good variety of subjects. If your well-written submission is not accepted, it may simply mean we have too many discussion threads or submissions that cover the subject area of your article. We will make every effort to inform you of the status of your submission, and the reasons it may have been rejected.
Editing: We reserve the right to make edits in your approved submission that may include grammatical alterations, structural alterations, or rejection of one or more links. In the event we make any corrections, the article will be submitted to your for your review and approval prior to publication.
Payment Amount: $75 is the minimum payment, sent no later than 90 days after the last day of the publication month (if our accounting department has appropriate tax information from you on file). Higher payments are offered in the event you have experienced travel or other content acquisition expenses associated with the creation of your article, or lengthy research and/or interviews were required.
Rights: By using this form and submitting a newsletter article for consideration, you hereby grant all rights to use the material you submitted under the general terms set forth in our Discussion Board Terms and Conditions as well as any applicable legal rights identified here.
